The Swatch FIVB World Tour 2010 is an international beach volleyball competition. The tour consists of 12 tournaments with both genders and 5 separate gender tournaments. Beach Volleyball
Beach volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of two or more players on a sand court divided by a net. Similar to indoor volleyball, the objective of the game is to send the ball over the net and to ground it on the opponent's side of the court. Each team also works in unison to prevent the opposing team from grounding the ball on their side of the court. Teams are allowed up to three touches to return the ball across the net, and individual players may not touch the ball twice consecutively except after a touch off an attempted block. Making a block touch leaves only two more touches before the ball must be hit over. The ball is put in play with a serve—a hit by the server from behind the rear court boundary over the net to the opponents. The receiving team typically uses their three touches to pass the ball, set it up for an attack, and then attack the ball by sending it back over the net. Chen Xue
Xue Chen (; born 18 February 1989 in Fuzhou, Fujian) is a Chinese beach volleyball player, measuring in height. Her hometown is Fuzhou, but she trains in Sanya, Hainan. She has also trained in California under coach Dane Selznick. She competed at the 2020 Olympics with X. Wang in Tokyo held in 2021. Career Xue began playing basketball as a child, but disliked the physical contact of that sport. She then played indoor volleyball from the age of 10 to 13 before settling into beach volleyball. She began training for her sports career in 2000 at the Fuzhou Sports Training School. In 2002, she attended the Athletic Sports College of Fuzhou and became a member of the Chinese national beach volleyball team. Tyra Turner (née Harper, born July 21, 1976) is a professional beach volleyball player from the United States who plays on the AVP Tour. Turner is a graduate of the University of Central Florida, where she played volleyball all four years. In 1998, she was named UCF's Scholar Athlete of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year. Angela Marie "Angie" Akers (née Harris; born June 30, 1976) is a retired professional beach volleyball player from the United States who played on the Association of Volleyball Professionals, AVP Tour. Akers was named the AVP Rookie of the Year in 2002. Akers played NCAA indoor volleyball for the University of Notre Dame and is the school's all-time career ace and kills leader. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, BA in Sociology, Akers played professional volleyball in Switzerland for three months. Talita Antunes da Rocha (born August 29, 1982) is a Brazilian beach volleyball player, playing as a blocker. She was FIVB rookie of the year in 2005, and World Tour Winner twice, in 2013 and 2015. Career Born in Aquidauana, Antunes caught the attention of Olympic Champion Jackie Silva at the age of 19. April Elizabeth Ross (born June 20, 1982) is an American beach volleyball player and three-time Olympic medalist. She won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics with Jennifer Kessy, a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics with Kerri Walsh Jennings, and a gold medal at 2020 Summer Olympics with Alix Klineman.
