Swarna Mallawarachchi
Swarna Mallawarachchi (born 1 August 1948: ), is an actress in Sri Lankan cinema. Often known as the "Golden star of Sinhalese cinema", Swarna began her acting career whilst still a schoolgirl, starring in the 1966 blockbuster film '' Sath Samudura'' directed by Siri Gunasinghe. During a career spanning over 40 years, Swarna has won the 'Best Actress Award' 26 times, most by a Sri Lankan actress. Personal life She was born on 1 August 1, 1948. in Kosgas Junction, Grandpass, Colombo. She completed her education at Vijayaba Maha Vidyalaya, Grandpass. In a Colombo municipal election, Swarna, along with other communist leaders such as Peter Kehnemann and K. P. de Silva, fielded Abeysena, a candidate from his party in the Northern Grandpass division. Swarna has one daughter named Naredra Bandaranayake. Swarna Jayanti express trains are weekly Superfast trains introduced in 1997 for the 50th "Golden Jubilee" year of India's independence. It is the world’s second largest rail system under one company. Originally, five routes were available, but it has been expanded to eight routes. All trains go to Delhi. The 12957 / 12958 Swarna Jayanti Rajdhani Express is a Rajdhani Express train on the Indian Railways broad-gauge track network, connecting Sabarmati and New Delhi, a distance of approximately 929 km. The train was one of the Rajdhani Express trains to be introduced in the 20th century, making its inaugural run on 1 January 1998 after the erstwhile metre-gauge lines between Sabarmati and Delhi through Gujarat, Rajasthan and Haryana were converted to broad gauge. Since it was introduced in the 50th year of India's independence, it was named 'Swarna Jayanti' (golden jubilee) Rajdhani Express.
