Peter Frans Gontha (born 4 May 1948 in Semarang, Indonesia) is an Indonesian businessman, commercial television pioneer, and jazz musician. He served as Indonesian ambassador to Poland from October 2014 to January 2019. Early life and education Gontha was born in Semarang, Central Java, to Victor Willem ‘Wim’ Gontha and Alice. After attending Jakarta's Kanisius College, he was in 1967 sent by his mother to the Netherlands, where he worked as a driver for the Indonesian Embassy and for Garuda Indonesia in Amsterdam. He also found employment as a sailor and worked for the Holland-America Line cruise company. After saving $9,000, he returned to Indonesia. In 1970, he started work for Shell Benelux Computer Center. BTV, formerly known as Q Channel, QTV and BeritaSatu (literally translated as ''NewsOne'') is an Indonesian digital free-to-air news network owned by B Universe. The channel is the first Indonesia-based pay television channel. History BTV was launched in 1998 as Q Channel (an abbreviation of Quick Channel) by PT Jaring Data Interaktif which was owned by one of RCTI and SCTV executive, Peter F. Gontha. TVRI (TV Channel)
TVRI (also referred to as TVRI Nasional, TVRI Siaran Nasional, or Kanal 1 TVRI Nasional, formerly also known as TVRI Stasiun Pusat Jakarta) is the main national public television channel owned by LPP Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI). The channel began broadcasting on 24 August 1962, making it the first television station in Indonesia. The channel was also the only television channel choice in Indonesia until 1989, when Programa Dua TVRI (now TVRI Jakarta) in Jakarta broadcast separately from TVRI and private television stations began broadcasting. TVRI is networked with regional TVRI stations on analog broadcasts (except Special Capital Region of Jakarta and its surroundings), but broadcasts fully and independent from regional stations on digital broadcasts. The People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia ( id, Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat Republik Indonesia, MPR-RI) is the legislative branch in Politics of Indonesia, Indonesia's political system. It is composed of the members of the People's Representative Council (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD).
