Svetozar Šapurić
Svetozar Šapurić (; born 28 August 1960) is a Serbian football manager and former player. He is the current manager of Chinese club Cangzhou Mighty Lions. Career Šapurić started out at his hometown club Vrbas, spending eight seasons in the senior squad (1977–1985), before securing a move to Vojvodina. He was a member of the team that won the Yugoslav First League in 1989. Subsequently, Šapurić moved abroad to Cyprus and signed with APOEL. He later switched to Anorthosis (1993–1995), before returning to APOEL for his final season. After finishing his playing career, Šapurić was briefly manager of APOEL in 1996. He later served as sporting director for his former club Vojvodina from September 1996 to October 1999. Afterwards, Šapurić returned to Cyprus for his second brief spell as manager of APOEL in 2000. Vrbas, Serbia
Vrbas ( sr-Cyrl, Врбас; hu, Verbász) is a town and municipality located in the South Bačka District of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. As of 2011, the town had a population of 24,112, while the municipality had 42,092 inhabitants. Name Its name stems from the word "Willow" in the Serbian language. During the SFRY period, the town was renamed ''Titov Vrbas'' (meaning "the Vrbas of Tito"), after Josip Broz Tito. Like all other towns in Socialist Yugoslavia named after Tito, the first part was dropped once the new states were formed during the early 1990s. The Cypriot First Division ( el, Πρωτάθλημα Α΄ Κατηγορίας) is the top tier football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Since February 2016, it is sponsored by Cyta and is thus officially known as the Cyta Championship. The league is contested by 14 teams and runs from August to May, with the three lowest-placed teams being relegated to the Cypriot Second Division, and replaced by the top three teams in that division. 2006 UEFA Intertoto Cup
The 2006 UEFA Intertoto Cup was the first edition after a major change of the competition format. There were only three rounds instead of five, and eleven tournament co-winners qualified for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup (instead of three teams qualifying for the first round proper). UEFA Intertoto Cup
The UEFA Intertoto Cup (from la, Inter, 'between' + german: toto, 'betting pool'),Most precisely, from (football pool); cf. often abbreviated and more known in the German-speaking world as UI Cup and originally called the International Football Cup, was a summer football competition. The competition was discontinued after the 2008 tournament. Teams who originally would have entered the Intertoto Cup now directly enter the qualifying stages of the UEFA Europa League from this point. The tournament was founded in 1961–62, but was only taken over by UEFA in 1995. Initially, the tournament ended with a single champion, who received the Intertoto Cup. The 1994–95 Cypriot First Division was the 56th season of the Cypriot top-level football league. Anorthosis won their 7th title. Format Twelve teams participated in the 1994–95 Cypriot First Division. The league consisted of three rounds with eleven match weeks in each round. The Cypriot Super Cup is a Cypriot football trophy, contested in an annual match between the previous season's Cypriot First Division champions, and the Cypriot Cup winners. The match is contested at the beginning of the football season, and is usually played at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia. The most successful team in the competition are Omonia, who have won the trophy on 17 occasions. The current holders are Apollon Limassol, who defeated Omonia 2–0 in the 2022 match. History The first match was played in 1951, under the name Pakkos Shield (Greek: Ασπίδα Πάκκου). It began on 11 November 1995 with the preliminary round and concluded on 29 May 1996 with the final which was held at Tsirion Stadium.
