Sverre Seeberg
Sverre Knutsønn Seeberg (born 3 December 1950) is a Norwegian sports official. He was an active dog sled racer, being national champion in the sport. He served as president of the Norwegian Sled Dog Racing Association, co-founded the European Sled Dog Racing Association and in 1986 became an honorary member of his local club Holmenkollen Hundekjørerklubb. From 1983 to 1988 he was the secretary-general of the Norwegian Ski Federation. In skiing, he represents the club IL Heming. Seeberg became president of the Norwegian Ski Federation in 2002 upon Jan Jensen's death, and in 2004 he also became a board member of the International Ski Federation. Dog Sled Race
Sled dog racing (sometimes termed dog sled racing) is a winter dog sport most popular in the Arctic regions of the United States, Canada, Russia, Greenland and some European countries. It involves the timed competition of teams of sled dogs that pull a sled with the dog driver or ''musher'' standing on the runners. The team completing the marked course in the least time is judged the winner. A sled dog race was a demonstration sport at the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York and again at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo, and once more in the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, but it did not gain official event status. The Norwegian Ski Federation ( no, Norges Skiforbund) is headquartered in Oslo, Norway and is the national representative of the International Ski Federation. Founded on 21 February 1908, it covers the skiing disciplines of alpine, cross-country, freestyle, Nordic combined, ski jumping, and snowboarding. IL Heming
Idrettslaget Heming is a Norwegian sports club from Slemdal, Oslo. It has sections for association football, Nordic skiing, alpine skiing, orienteering and tennis, previously also for bandy. General history It was founded on 25 May 1916, and named after a mythological character based in the Viking era. It has the sports field Hemingbanen and the indoor arenas Heminghallen and Nye Heminghallen near Gråkammen station. Jan Jensen (skiing)
Jan Jensen (14 July 1944 – 22 October 2002) was a Norwegian sports official. Jensen chaired Østfold District Skiing Association and Østfold District Federation of Sports. In 1994, he was elected deputy vice president of the Norwegian Confederation of Sports, stepping down to status of board member in 1995, when he was elected president of the Norwegian Ski Federation. In 1999, he was a contender for the presidency of the Norwegian Confederation of Sports, but at the national convention he lost the vote to Kjell O. Kran, and left the board as well. He remained president of the Norwegian Skiing Federation until his death from cancer in October 2002. Erik Røste
Erik Røste (born 30 April 1960) is a Norwegian skiing coach, official and businessperson. He was born in Gjøvik and finished his secondary education there in 1979. He took his degree at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. He was hired as a junior and recruit coach in cross-country skiing in the Norwegian Ski Federation in 1990. In 1994, he was promoted to sports director. He left in 1998, but continued as a consultant in Olympiatoppen until 2003. In 1998 he started a business career in Adidas Norge in Gjøvik. In 2001 he became chief executive of Sport 1 Gruppen. From 2007 to 2008 he had a short tenure in Gjelsten Holding, before becoming chief executive of Bj Sport (Bjørn Dæhlie's clothing brand) in 2008.
