Sverige, det bästa på vår jord (Swedish for 'Sweden, the best on our earth'.) is a song written by Sebastian Fronda, Mikael Clauss and Thomas Thörnholm. The song won an Aftonbladet early 2008 Internet contest, applying for the Team Sweden fight song for the 2008 UEFA European Football Championship in Austria and Switzerland. The song was recorded by Markoolio and was released as a single on 5 May 2008. It also appeared on his 2008 studio album, called ''Jag är konst ''Jag är konst'' is the seventh studio album by Markoolio, released on 3 December 2008. Marko Kristian "Markoolio" Lehtosalo (born 1 January 1975 in Lahti, Finland) is a Swedish-Finnish multi-platinum selling recording artist, singer, musician, songwriter, actor, and comedian. His stage name Markoolio is a portmanteau of his first name ''Marko'' and the stage name of the American rapper Coolio. Biography At the age of six months, Lehtosalo migrated from Finland to Sweden where he grew up completing primary and secondary school in the small Stockholm suburb of Orminge. Following the completion of his compulsory military service as a coastal ranger sniper in Ekenäs, Finland, he returned to Sweden. There, he was allegedly discovered by producers when rapping on a commuter train in Stockholm; however, this story has been revealed to be a fabrication. The 2008 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2008 or simply Euro 2008, was the 13th UEFA European Championship, a quadrennial football tournament contested by the member nations of UEFA (the Union of European Football Associations). It took place in Austria and Switzerland (both hosting the tournament for the first time) from 7 to 29 June 2008. The tournament was won by Spain, who defeated Germany 1–0 in the final.
