Svendborg Station
Svendborg railway station ( da, Svendborg Banegård og ''Svendborg Station'') is the principal railway station serving the town of Svendborg on the island of Funen, Denmark. The station was built in 1876 for the opening of Svendborgbanen July 12, 1876. The main building is designed by N. P. C. Holsøe. The building was opened July 10, 1878. The station building contains a DSB kiosk and a DSB travel agency. The kiosk has since been converted to a 7-Eleven store. DSB tickets are available for purchase in the 7-Eleven store. There also is a Fynbus customer service center that sells bus passes. The station contains an indoor waiting area, however the travel agency no longer is in operation. The Fynbus local city bus stop is located on the street side of the station, and the regional bus station is located on the opposite side of the tracks. Nyborg railway station ( da, Nyborg Station or ''Nyborg Banegård'') is a railway station serving the town of Nyborg on the eastern part of the island of Funen, Denmark. It is located in the eastern part of the town, about east of the historic town centre. Nyborg station is located on the main line (railway), main line Copenhagen–Fredericia/Taulov Line, Copenhagen–Fredericia railway from Copenhagen to Funen and Jutland. The station offers direct InterCity services to Copenhagen, Funen and Jutland, regional rail services to Copenhagen and Odense operated by the national railway company DSB (railway company), DSB. DSB (railway Company)
DSB, an abbreviation of ''Danske Statsbaner'' (, ''Danish State Railways''), is the largest Danish train operating company, and the largest in Scandinavia. While DSB is responsible for passenger train operation on most of the Danish railways, goods transport and railway maintenance are outside its scope. DSB runs a commuter rail system, called the S-train, in the area around the Danish capital, Copenhagen, that connects the different areas and suburbs in the greater metropolitan area. Single Track (rail)
A single-track railway is a railway where trains traveling in both directions share the same track. Single track is usually found on lesser-used rail lines, often branch lines, where the level of traffic is not high enough to justify the cost of constructing and maintaining a second track. Advantages and disadvantages Single track is significantly cheaper to build and maintain, but has operational and safety disadvantages. For example, a single-track line that takes 15 minutes to travel through would have capacity for only two trains per hour in each direction safely. By contrast, a double track with signal boxes four minutes apart can allow up to 15 trains per hour in each direction safely, provided all the trains travel at the same speed. Nyborg is a city in central Denmark, located in Nyborg Municipality on the island of Funen and with a population of 17,525 (2022). It is the easternmost settlement on Funen. By road, it is located 34 km east of Odense, 35 km north of Svendborg and 21 km south of Kerteminde. It also connects to Korsør through the Great Belt Bridge. Rail transport (also known as train transport) is a means of transport that transfers passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are incorporated in tracks.
