Svend Unmack Larsen
Svend Unmack Larsen (23 September 1893, in Aarhus – 23 March 1965) was a Danish politician for the Social Democratic Party who served as Denmark's Minister of Justice (1939–1940) and was the mayor of Aarhus, Denmark for 13 years (1945–1958). Early life Larsen was born in Aarhus on 23 September 1893, the son of L.M. Larsen and Thyra Vilhelmine Unmack. His father was the director of the city's poorhouse and Larsen was raised there. Larsen said that his childhood among the poor was "this mixture of tragedy and baroque, macabre comedy" and gave him an understanding of social problems and the dark sides of society. Larsen had an older brother, Eiler Larsen, who earned fame as "the Greeter" in Laguna Beach, California. Career Larsen graduated from law school in 1918 and worked in the criminal courts. Bernhardt Jensen
Steffen Bernhardt Jensen (13 April 1910 – 11 June 1978) was a Danish journalist, author, politician and Mayor of Aarhus from 1958 to 1971 for the Social Democratic Party. He was politically active from an early age and later worked as a journalist for several local left-leaning newspapers. During his tenure as mayor, he became known for his opposition to car traffic and he stopped several infrastructure projects that would have required large-scale demolitions of the historic inner city. Political career Jensen started his political career early on and served on the board of Denmark's Socialdemocratic Youth from 1927 to 1932. Harald Petersen
Harald Petersen (1893–1970) was a Danish politician who served as the Justice Minister (Denmark), minister of justice and twice Minister of Defence (Denmark), minister of defence in the 1940s and 1950s. Early life and education Petersen was born in Store Damme, Møn, on 27 October 1893. His parents were Emil Petersen who was a teacher and a member of Folketing, the parliament, and Emilie Marie Carstensen. He received a teaching certificate in 1914 and then attended courses on economics and foreign languages in Copenhagen. Career Petersen worked as a journalist at ''Ringsted Folketidende'' for two years between 1916 and 1918. Karl Kristian Steincke
Karl Kristian Vilhelm Steincke (25 August 1880 – 8 August 1963), was a Danish politician from the Social Democratic Party. He was justice minister from 1924 to 1926 in the Stauning I Cabinet, social minister from 1929 to 1935 in the Stauning II Cabinet, and justice minister again from 1935 to 1939 in the Stauning III Cabinet and in 1950 in the Hedtoft I and II Cabinets.
