Svend Foyn Bruun Sr.
Svend Foyn Bruun Sr. (1 December 1883 – 31 May 1956) was a Norwegian naval officer, ship-owner and whaler, and politician for the Conservative Party. He ran the company Bruun & von der Lippe from 1919 to 1945, co-founded Kosmos and was a four-term member of the Parliament of Norway. Personal life He was born in Tønsberg as a son of ship-owner Carsten Henrik Carstensen Bruun (1828–1907) and Maren Sibylle Bull Foyn (1840–1918). He was a younger brother of Carsten Henrik Bruun Jr. On the paternal side he was a great-grandnephew of founding father Henrik Carstensen, and on the maternal side he was a grandson of Laurentius Føyn Jr, born 1807, who was a brother of noted whaler Svend Foyn. Anton Barth Von Der Lippe
Anton Barth von der Lippe (8 October 1886 – 1960) was a Norwegian whaler. He was born in Tjøme as a son of dean Johan Nordahl Brun von der Lippe (1838–1915) and his third wife. His father's second wife had the son Jakob von der Lippe, who was Anton's half-brother. Anton was also a grandson of bishop Jacob von der Lippe, nephew of Conrad Fredrik von der Lippe and first cousin once removed of Frits von der Lippe, Just Lippe and Jens von der Lippe. He established his own shipping company in 1915, and was particularly engaged in whaling. Between 1919 and 1945 he cooperated closely with Svend Foyn Bruun. Order Of The Polar Star
The Royal Order of the Polar Star (Swedish: ''Kungliga Nordstjärneorden'') is a Swedish order of chivalry created by King Frederick I on 23 February 1748, together with the Order of the Sword and the Order of the Seraphim. The Order of the Polar Star was until 1975 intended as a reward for Swedish and foreign "civic merits, for devotion to duty, for science, literary, learned and useful works and for new and beneficial institutions". Its motto is, as seen on the blue enameled centre of the badge, ''Nescit Occasum'', a Latin phrase meaning "It knows no decline". This is to represent that Sweden is as constant as a never setting star. The Order's colour is black. ''Morgenbladet'' is a Norwegian weekly, newspaper, covering politics, culture and science. History ''Morgenbladet'' was founded in 1819 by the book printer Niels Wulfsberg. The paper is the country's first daily newspaper; however, Adresseavisen was founded earlier. For a long time, ''Morgenbladet'' was also the country's top-ranking newspaper by circulation. Adolf Bredo Stabell, chief editor from 1831 to 1857, made ''Morgenbladet'' an important force of opposition, both in politics and literature. Among its writers during this period was the author Henrik Wergeland. The leadership of Christian Friele, from 1857 to 1893, turned ''Morgenbladet'' into the leading conservative news outlet in Norway. Tønsberg , historically Tunsberg, is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, eastern Norway, located around south-southwest of Oslo on the western coast of the Oslofjord near its mouth onto the Skagerrak.
