Svend Adolph Solberg
Svend Adolph Solberg (17 April 1831–3 May 1890) was a Norwegian businessman and politician. Solberg was born at Drammen in Buskerud, Norway. He was the son of Andreas Solberg (1801-1862) and his wife Ingeborg Nicoline Kiær (1801-1862). Following the death of his parents, he took over the Kobbervik farm at Åskollen which his father had acquired in 1842. After graduation (cand.jur), Solberg went to work as a wholesaler for the firm Hans Kiær & Co. in Drammen The company, which was involved in the timber industry, was owned and operated by relatives of his mother's family. In 1880, he was elected to the Norwegian Parliament, representing the constituency of Drammen. He only served one term. Solberg was married to Christiane Louise Arbo (1833-1913). Drammen
Drammen () is a city and municipality in Viken (county), Viken, Norway. The port and river city of Drammen is centrally located in the south-eastern and most populated part of Norway. Drammen municipality also includes smaller towns and villages such as Konnerud, Svelvik, Mjøndalen and Skoger. Location Drammen is located west of the Oslofjord and is situated approximately 44 km South-west of Oslo. There are more than 101 000 inhabitants in the municipality, but the city is the regional capital of an area with 82 000 inhabitants. Buskerud () is a former county and a current electoral district in Norway, bordering Akershus, Oslo, Oppland, Sogn og Fjordane, Hordaland, Telemark and Vestfold. The region extends from the Oslofjord and Drammensfjorden in the southeast to Hardangervidda mountain range in the northwest. The county administration was in modern times located in Drammen. Buskerud was merged with Akershus and Østfold into the newly created Viken County on 1 January 2020. On the 23 February 2022 Viken County Council voted in a 49 against 38 decision to submit an application to the Norwegian government for a county demerger. Åskollen is a part of the borough of Tangen-Åskollen in the city of Drammen, Norway. Tangen-Åskollen is one of the eight districts in Drammen and had 6,123 inhabitants (2002). Tangen-Åskollen is located south-east of the city centre. Before 1964 Åskollen was a part of Skoger municipality. Tangen Church (''Tangen Kirke'') was inaugurated on 25 January 1854. The design was by architect Heinrich Ernst Schirmer. The altarpiece titled "Christ in Gethsemane" (''Jesus i Getsemane''), was made by Johan Fredrik Eckersberg in 1852. There is a marble baptismal font from 1784, four chandeliers and Holy Bible from 1722. The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. The unicameral parliament has 169 members and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen multi-seat constituencies. Peter Collett Solberg (28 October 1866 – 10 December 1934) was a Norwegian businessperson and politician for the Conservative Party.
