Svava Rós Guðmundsdóttir
Svava Rós Guðmundsdóttir (born 11 November 1995) is an Icelandic footballer, who has represented the Iceland women's national football team on numerous occasions. At club level, she currently plays for US National Women's Soccer League club NJ/NY Gotham FC. Club career Svava Rós started her senior playing career in the summer of 2011 with Icelandic team Valur, making her debut in a match against Breiðablik, aged 15. Two years later, in 2013, she signed a two-year contract with Valur. Prior to the season, Svava Rós transferred to Breiðablik, winning the league in her first season with the club. Svava Rós had the most assists in the 2016 and 2017 Úrvalsdeild kvenna championships. In 2018, Svava Rós signed for Norwegian Toppserien team Røa IL. During the 2018 Toppserien season, Svava Rós scored 14 goals in 21 matches, and was named in the Team of the Year. The Toppserien is the top level of women's association football in Norway. It was founded in 1984. History Women's league football was introduced on a county basis in 1977. These leagues acted as qualification for the regional (South) league in 1979. Regional leagues were in operation until the formation of the First Division 1984, when the league was divided into three regions, Group Eastern-Norway (''Østlandet''), Group Western-Norway (''Vestlandet''), and Group Mid-Norway (''Trøndelag''). No teams from Northern-Norway (''Nord-Norge'') played, however. The winners of the three groups met each other for a play-off. Laugardalsvöllur
Laugardalsvöllur () is Iceland's national football stadium and the home venue for the Iceland national football team. It is in Reykjavík with a capacity of 9,800. History The idea of building a sport venue in Laugardalur, along with some other entertainment facilities, dates back to 1871. At that time, the population of Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland, was only about 2,000. Laugardalur was also nearly 3 km (1.9 mi) away from residential areas. Little came out of this proposal the next 60 years or so. In 1943, the town council set up the Laugardalsnefnd committee. Its task was to make proposals and ideas for the area. The committee then delivered the result later, which included building a new football stadium and a new swimming pool. Construction of the field started in 1949 and lasted until 1952. The 2019 Algarve Cup was the 26th edition of the Algarve Cup, an invitational women's football tournament held annually in Portugal. It took place from 27 February to 6 March. The 2022 Toppserien is the 36th season of the highest women's football league in Norway. The season started on 20 March 2022. Format This season is the first with a new play-off system.
