Suzanne McClelland
Suzanne McClelland is a New York-based artist best known for abstract work based in language, speech, and sound. Early life and education McClelland studied with photographer Joanne Leonard and painter Gerome Kamrowski at the University of Michigan, receiving a BFA in 1981. In 1989, she received a MFA from School of Visual Arts, citing Judy Pfaff and Jackie Winsor as influential teachers. Work McClelland's work has been exhibited at The Whitney Museum, both 2014 and 1993 Biennials; The New Museum, The Museum at University at Albany SUNY, and The Fralin Museum of Art at University of Virginia. Her work can be found in MOMA, The Walker, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum and Saatchi. She is currently on faculty with School of Visual Arts Fine Arts, MFA Program. Peter Bradley (artist)
Peter Bradley (born September 15, 1940) is an American painter and sculptor and former art dealer. He attended the Society of Arts and Crafts in Detroit and Yale University. His work was included in the 1973 Whitney Biennial. As an art dealer he was the associate director of the Perls Galleries from 1968 until 1975. He later donated his papers from this period to the Archives of American Art of the Smithsonian Institution. In 1971 while associate director of the Perls Galleries, Bradley curated '' The De Luxe Show'' under the auspices of the famed de Menil family in Houston, Texas, considered to be one of the early racially integrated art exhibitions in the United States. Bradley is known to have had a direct effect on the New New Painters, a group with a core of nine abstract artists that developed in 1978 coincident with the invention and development of acrylic gel paint by the paint chemist Sam Golden. The Norton Museum of Art is an art museum located in West Palm Beach, Florida. Its collection includes over 8,200 works, with a concentration in European, American, and Chinese art as well as in contemporary art and photography. Martin Z. Margulies is a real-estate developer and collector of contemporary art and photography. Margulies Collection For many years, Margulies maintained a publicly accessible sculpture garden on Grove Isle, a small, private island with condominium towers and a hotel in Coconut Grove and historically one of the most exclusive addresses in the city. After tensions with island management, much of the collection was moved to Florida International University’s main campus in West Miami-Dade. In 1998, Margulies along with his longtime curator Katherine Hinds began looking for a suitable space to display the growing collection. In 1999 they set up a warehouse space in then-derelict Wynwood to show his holdings of contemporary and vintage photography, video, sculpture and installation work.
