Suzanne N.J. 'Susie' Chun Oakland (born June 27, 1961) is an American politician and former Democratic member of the Hawaii Senate who represented the 13th District from 1996 to 2016. Previously she was a member of the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1990 to 1996. She is generally considered to have liberal political views. Karl Rhoads
Karl A. Rhoads (born January 24, 1963) is an American politician, lawyer and a Democratic member of the Hawaii Senate since 2016 representing District 13. Rhoads previously served consecutively from 2013 to 2016 representing District 29 in the Hawaii House of Representatives and from January 2007 to 2013 in the District 28 seat. Education and career Rhoads earned his BA in chemistry and history at Andrews University, his MA at the University of London, and his JD from George Washington University. Rhoads was a summer clerk for Corinne Watanabe on the Intermediate Court of Appeals in 1985.
