Suzana Al-Salkini ( mk, Сузана Ал-Салкини; born 1984) is a North Macedonia, Macedonian beauty pageant titleholder. She won the right to represent her country in Miss World 2008 in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 13 December 2008, but due to financial issues and the lack of sponsorship, she was not allowed to travel to South Africa to compete for the crown. Instead, she was given the opportunity to compete in Miss World 2009, also in Johannesburg, South Africa on 12 December 2009. Miss World 2009
Miss World 2009, the 59th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 12 December 2009 at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. 112 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown, marking the biggest turnout in the pageant's history. Ksenia Sukhinova of Russia crowned her successor Kaiane Aldorino of Gibraltar at the end of event. It is the first time that someone from Gibraltar won Miss World. Miss World 2008, the 58th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 13 December 2008 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. Originally, the pageant was going to take place in Kyiv, Ukraine, but because of the ongoing 2008 Russo-Georgian diplomatic crisis in neighbouring South Ossetia, the Miss World Organization decided to move the pageant away from Eastern Europe. 109 contestants from all over the world compete for the crown, the second highest turnout in the 59 years of the pageant.
