''Sutorang'' is a 1964 Bengali-language film directed by Subhash Dutta. Dutta played the male lead role as well. Actress Kabori Sarwar made her debut in this film. The film won the second prize in Frankfurt Asia Film in 1964. Sarah Begum Kabori (also Kabori Sarwar; born Mina Pal, 19 July 1950 – 17 April 2021) was a Bangladeshi film actress and politician. Her notable films include ''Sutorang'', ''Sareng Bou'', ''Abhirbhab'', ''Shat Bhai Champa'', ''Sujon Sokhi'' and ''Lalon Fokir''. She received the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in the film ''Sareng Bou'' (1978) and Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. Kabori got involved into politics later in her life. She became an elected member of parliament from the Narayanganj-4 constituency as an Awami League politician in 2008 and served until 2014. Subhash Dutta (9 February 1930 – 16 November 2012) was a Bangladeshi filmmaker, theater and film actor. He started his career as a commercial artist. Career At the beginning of his career, Dutta worked as a film poster artist. He drew posters for Mukh O Mukhosh (1956), the first Bengali-language movie to be made in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). He directed his first movie, Sutorang, in 1964. The movie won the second prize at the Frankfurt Festival in 1965. In 1972, he acted with the theatrical group, ''Aranyak Nattyadal''. Inam Ahmed (1 February 1922 – 13 September 2003) was a Bangladeshi film actor. He also acted in plays. He first appeared on onscreen in the West Bengali film ''Somadhan'' in 1943. Early life Ahmed was born in 1922 to a Muslim family in Golapganj Upazila of Sylhet District in East Bengal. He began acting in plays at the age of 8. In 1941, he graduated from Calcutta University and then joined the Assam Civil police. Career Ahmed took part in several plays on a regular basis when he was in Assam. After three years of service, he moved to Calcutta. While working in a non-governmental organization, he looked for an opportunity to do work in film. Ferdausi Rahman
Ferdausi Rahman (; born 28 June 1941) also known as Ferdausi Begum is a Bangladeshi playback singer. She is the daughter of folk singer Abbas Uddin. She sang some popular film songs for Pakistani films also in the 1960s especially working with the music composer Robin Ghosh in film Chakori released in 1967. She was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1977 and Independence Day Award in 1995 by the Government of Bangladesh. Personal life Rahman had two elder brothers, Justice Mustafa Kamal (died 2015) and singer Mustafa Zaman Abbasi. Her niece, Nashid Kamal, is a singer. Ahmed Muztaba Zamal is a Bangladeshi film critic. He is editor of ''Celluloid'', a quarterly film magazine, and is director of the Dhaka International Film Festival.
