Sussex Late Red Division 4 West
Sussex 4 is an English level 12 rugby union league traditionally divided into two regional divisions. It is run by the Sussex Rugby Football Union and features teams from this county. Teams play home and away matches from September to April. Promoted teams move up to Sussex Oranjeboom Division 3 and there is no relegation. The division has changed format several times in its history, originally being a regional division before changing to a single division and then back to a regional for the 2016-17 season. Seaford Rugby Football Club
The first XV Seaford Rugby Football Club is a community rugby club affiliated to the RFU. They play rugby in London and the SE Division: Harveys of Sussex League 1 (RFU Lv 9). They have competed at this level for over 10 seasons, with a respectable 4th place finish in the 2013-14 season. The club plays in multiple leagues within the Sussex RFU set-up. This year they got to the Southern East England final in the RFU junior vase, narrowly missing out on a place at Twickenham after a loss to Battersea Ironsides RFC. Hove Rugby Club is an English community rugby union club, who play at Hove Recreation Ground in Shirley Drive Hove, and are affiliated to the English RFU via the Sussex RFU. They currently play in London 2 South East - a league a level 7 of the English rugby union system - following their relegation from London 1 South at the end of the 2018–19 season. History Beginnings Territorial Army officers and men of the Sussex Yeomanry formed a rugby club, which was affiliated to the Rugby Football Union in 1933. Records of their results have been lost in the mist of time but, post war in 1945 the players reformed and continued to turn out on Saturdays, the home matches being played at East Brighton Park. Haywards Heath Rugby Football Club is an English rugby union team. The first XV currently plays in Sussex 2, the tenth tier of English rugby union competition. The club also has a number of other teams, with their 2nd XV currently playing in the Sussex Late Red 3 (level 12).
