Susan Nickson
Susan Nickson (born 1982) is an English screenwriter and executive producer. Early life Nickson was raised in Runcorn, Cheshire, where she attended The Grange School. Career Nickson began her career aged 14 when she won won the Lloyds Bank Film Challenge with a ten-minute short film called ''Buddah's Legs''. In 1995, her half-hour satirical comedy ''Life's a Bitch'', starring Sean Hughes and Kathy Burke, aired on Channel 4. Her first original sitcom, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, ran for ten years, across 9 series, with Nickson writing the majority of the episodes. The series enjoyed enormous popular success, helping to launch the careers of its stars Sheridan Smith, Ralf Little and Will Mellor. It can still regularly be seen on BBC Three, and is currently available on BBC iPlayer. Ralf Alastair John Little (born 8 February 1980) is an English actor, writer, presenter, narrator and former semi-professional footballer, working mainly in television comedy. He played Antony Royle in ''The Royle Family'' and Jonny Keogh in the first six series of ''Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps''. Since 2020, he has starred as DI Neville Parker in '' Death in Paradise''. He also is the narrator of Channel 5's ''The Yorkshire Farm'', which follows the life of the Owen family on their Yorkshire Farm (2018-2020). Early life Little was born in Bury and attended Bolton School (Boys' Division). His parents are accountants. He had a Welsh grandmother. Sky Comedy
Sky Comedy is a British pay television channel owned and operated by Sky, a division of Comcast, which launched on 27 January 2020, replacing Universal TV. It is the first dedicated full-time comedy station in Sky's channel portfolio since the closure of The Comedy Channel in 1992. Sky Comedy broadcasts imported programming from US networks such as corporate sibling NBC plus premium channels HBO and Showtime, broadcasting classic sitcoms as well as comedy films, live stand-up and talk shows. ''Birds of a Feather'' is a British sitcom originally broadcast on BBC One from 16 October 1989 to 24 December 1998, then revived on ITV from 2 January 2014 to 24 December 2020. The series stars Pauline Quirke and Linda Robson, with Lesley Joseph, created by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, who also wrote many of the episodes. In the first episode, sisters Sharon and Tracey are brought together when their husbands are sent to prison for armed robbery. Sharon, who lives in an Edmonton council flat, moves into Tracey's upmarket house in Chigwell, Essex. Their next-door neighbour and later friend, Dorien, is a middle-aged married Jewish woman who is constantly having affairs with younger men. ''Coming of Age'' is a British sitcom, written by Tim Dawson, produced in house by BBC Productions, and broadcast on the former channel BBC Three. The show takes a direct look at five sixth form students, Jas, Ollie, Matt, Chloe and DK, as well as, from series three, new character Robyn Crisp, who are living in Abingdon. Their lives rotate around the fictional Wooton College, their bedrooms, and Ollie's garden shed. A pilot originally aired in 2007, followed by the first series in 2008, a second series in 2010, and a third beginning in January 2011. It follows the trials and tribulations of a group of twentysomething friends in Manchester, facing the decision to either carry on partying or settle down. The first episode aired on 7 May 2006 on BBC Three and appeared at number eight on the Broadcasters' Audience Research Board (BARB) top ten of most watched BBC Three programmes for that week. The show made only one more entry on the chart for the rest of the first series, when it reached number nine, some two weeks later.
