Susan Melody George (born 26 July 1950) is an English film and television actress. Early life She was born in Surbiton, Surrey (now London), and has recalled many holidays at the caravan park in Font-y-Gary in South Wales as a child. She trained at the Stage School, Corona Theatre School and has acted since the age of four. Acting She is best known for appearing in films such as '' Straw Dogs'' (1971) with Dustin Hoffman, '' Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry'' (1974) with Peter Fonda, and '' Mandingo'' (1975) with Ken Norton. When asked in a 2013 interview about working with Hoffman and director Sam Peckinpah in ''Straw Dogs'', George said: In the early 1970s, George came to be associated with rather provocative, sometimes (as in ''Straw Dogs'') controversial roles and became quite typecast. Susan George (born June 29, 1934) is an American and French Political science, political and Social science, social scientist, activist and writer on global social justice, Third World poverty, underdevelopment and debt. She is the president of the Transnational Institute, a think-tank located in Amsterdam. She is a fierce critic of the present policies of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank (IBRD) and what she calls their 'maldevelopment model'. She similarly criticizes the structural reform policies of the Washington Consensus on Third World development. She is of U.S. birth but now resides in France, and has had Dual nationality, dual citizenship since 1994. Susan Elizabeth George (born February 26, 1949) is an American writer of mystery novels set in Great Britain. She is best known for a series of novels featuring Inspector Thomas Lynley. The 21st book in the series appeared in January 2022. The first 11 were adapted for television by the BBC as earlier episodes of ''The Inspector Lynley Mysteries''.
