Susan Fennell
Susan Fennell is a Canadian politician, who served as the mayor of Brampton, Ontario from 2000 to 2014. She was also the founder and commissioner of the National Women's Hockey League. Her time as mayor of Brampton was characterized by spending controversies and contention. Background In 1953, Susan Fennell was born Susan Biefer in Saint-Laurent, a borough of Montreal, Quebec. She completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in environmental science from the University of Toronto at Mississauga in 1977. She and her husband John have two adult children, Michael and Joey. Peel Regional Council
Peel Regional Council is the governing body of the Regional Municipality of Peel, Ontario, Canada. Formation Peel Council was formed in 1973 when the Regional Municipality of Peel was created to replace the old Peel County. It was created by the province to deal with counties with significant growth patterns. It is supposed to mimic the role of the former Metro Toronto Council. Philip Morris International is often referred to as one of the companies comprising Big Tobacco. Until a spin-off in March 2008, Philip Morris International was an operating company of Altria. Züm (pronounced Zoom, IPA: /zuːm/) is a bus rapid transit system for the suburban city of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, northwest of Toronto owned and operated by Brampton Transit. There are connections to the City of Mississauga, York Region, and the City of Toronto, with the first corridor having started service in fall 2010. The first phase calls for three corridors operating in mixed traffic, similar to York Region Transit's (YRT) Viva network. Phase 1 became fully operational by fall 2012. A key aspect of the Züm plan is increased service on supporting local corridors. Peel Regional Police
The Peel Regional Police (PRP) provide policing services for Peel Region (excluding Caledon) in Ontario, Canada. It is the second largest municipal police service in Ontario after the Toronto Police Service and third largest municipal force in Canada behind those of Toronto and Montreal, with 2,200 uniformed members and close to 875 support staff. Peter Robertson (politician)
Peter Robertson was mayor of Brampton, Ontario from 1991 to 2000. In 2000, he was defeated in the municipal election by then-councillor Susan Fennell. Background In 1970, Toronto Gore Township considered developing the community of Castlemore into a city of thirty thousand, over a five-year period. The community had the smallest population of any township within Peel, and neighboured Bramalea, a "satellite city" in Chinguacousy Township.
