Surya TV is an Malayalam-language Indian general entertainment pay television channel. The channel is part of Sun TV Network, which is headquartered at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. On 16 March 2017, Surya TV became the third Malayalam-language channel to launch a high-definition simulcast feed broadcasting at 1080i. It is available live on Sun NXT Sun NXT is an Indian video on demand service run by Sun TV Network. Surya Citra Televisi (SCTV) is an Indonesian free-to-air television network. It was launched on 24 August 1990 in Surabaya, East Java as Surabaya Centra Televisi, broadcasting to the city and its surrounding area. At first, the programming was similar to that of RCTI, broadcasting foreign shows and some of RCTI news programs until they could produce their own. On 30 January 1993, SCTV obtained a national license and eventually moved its operations to Jakarta, changing its name to Surya Citra Televisi. Its main offices are located in Central Jakarta, with studios in West Jakarta. It is owned by Surya Citra Media, a publicly-listed subsidiary of the technology company Emtek. KTV is an Indian pay television channel, broadcasting Tamil language, Tamil-language films. It was launched on 22 October 2001. It is a part of the wider Chennai-based Sun TV Network, a subsidiary of the Sun Group. History The letter K in KTV stands for ''Kondattam'' which means celebration. Surya (; sa, सूर्य, ) is the sun as well as the solar deity in Hinduism. He is traditionally one of the major five deities in the Smarta tradition, all of whom are considered as equivalent deities in the Panchayatana puja and a means to realise Brahman. Other names of Surya in ancient Indian literature include Aditya, Arka, Bhanu, Savitr, Pushan, Ravi, Martanda, Mitra, Bhaskara, Prabhakara, Kathiravan, and Vivasvan.
