Surya, Batifa
Surya () is a village in Dohuk Governorate, Kurdistan Region in Iraq. History In 1969, the Ba'athist regime killed 39 men in the village. In September 2020, clashes between Turkish forces and PKK took place in the village causing the village and its surroundings to catch fire. The village was shelled by Turkey in July 2022. Surya
Surya (; sa, सूर्य, ) is the sun as well as the solar deity in Hinduism. He is traditionally one of the major five deities in the Smarta tradition, all of whom are considered as equivalent deities in the Panchayatana puja and a means to realise Brahman. Other names of Surya in ancient Indian literature include Aditya, Arka, Bhanu, Savitr, Pushan, Ravi, Martanda, Mitra, Bhaskara, Prabhakara, Kathiravan, and Vivasvan.
