Survival Of The Sickest (album)
''Survival of the Sickest'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Saliva. It was released on August 17, 2004. "No Hard Feelings" is the only song which features rap vocals in the bridge and it also has the same exact lyrics in "No Regrets" just using a different musical approach to both songs. The album produced two singles: "Survival of the Sickest" in June 2004, and "Razor's Edge" in November 2004. The title track was featured in the video games '' NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup'' and '' Backyard Wrestling 2: There Goes the Neighborhood'', and was the official theme song for WWE's Unforgiven 2004 pay per view. Saliva is an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1996. Saliva released their self-titled debut album in 1997 through Rockingchair Records, a label owned and operated by Mark Yoshida. The release was recorded and produced by Bill Pappas at Rockingchair Studios. They were signed to Island Records and went on to release their second studio album ''Every Six Seconds''. Saliva later released their third studio album titled ''Back into Your System'' in 2002, which reached No. 19 on the Billboard 200. ''Back into Your System'' launched one of Saliva's most successful songs, "Always", reaching No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Modern Rock Chart. Saliva (commonly referred to as spit) is an extracellular fluid produced and secreted by salivary glands in the mouth. In humans, saliva is around 99% water, plus electrolytes, mucus, white blood cells, epithelial cells (from which DNA can be extracted), enzymes (such as lipase and amylase), antimicrobial agents (such as secretory IgA, and lysozymes). The enzymes found in saliva are essential in beginning the process of digestion of dietary starches and fats. These enzymes also play a role in breaking down food particles entrapped within dental crevices, thus protecting teeth from bacterial decay. Howie Weinberg is an American audio mastering engineer with over 2,257 mastering credits, three TEC Awards, 21 Grammy Awards, two Juno Awards, and one Mercury Prize. Career Weinberg mastered Herbie Hancock's 1983 album ''Future Shock''. Other mastering works include the Beastie Boys' ''Licensed to Ill'' and Nirvana's ''Nevermind''. Weinberg began working in the mail room at Masterdisk in 1979, delivering recording tapes in New York City. Mastering engineer Bob Ludwig acted as his mentor. Andy Wallace (born 1947 in New Jersey) is an American music studio producer, audio and mixing engineer with a long track record of productions. Over the years, he focused exclusively on mixing. Wallace is known for his "sonically influential presence on the current music scene", and has "helped to make some of the most brutal, aggressive music released and also some of the most beautiful". Skidd Mills is a songwriter/producer based in Nashville, Tennessee. Skidd began his career at Ardent Studios in 1991. There he learned from the likes of John Hampton, Joe Hardy, Jim Dickinson, and Paul Ebersold. In 2001, Skidd left Ardent and started 747 Studios with fellow producer Paul Ebersold. It was there that Skiddco Music was started. In 2009, Skidd moved his operation to Nashville, where he has studios in Nolensville and on Music Row. ''Saliva'' is the debut studio album by American nu-metal band Saliva. The album was recorded in the summer of 1997 at Rockingchair Recording Studios in Memphis, Tennessee and released on Rockingchair Records on August 26, 1997. It is their only album to feature original drummer Todd Poole, who would leave in 1999 and was replaced by Paul Crosby. Re-Issue (2003) Following the major record label success of the band, after the release of ''Every Six Seconds'' (2001) and ''Back Into Your System'' (2002), Rockingchair Records made a manufacturing and distribution deal with Diamond Productions and RED Distribution imprint RUMM (RED Urban Music Marketing).
