Suroor Barabankvi
Syed Saeed-ur-Rehman, also known by his pen name Suroor Barabankvi, ( 30 January 1919 – 13 April 1980) was a Pakistani Urdu poet and lyricist. Life and career Born Syed Saeed ur Rehman in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, British India in 1919, he wrote under the pseudonym ''Suroor'' (exhilaration). He started his poetry at the age of 18. He recited his poetry to Jigar Moradabadi, who appreciated his poetic talent. In 1951, Suroor participated in the Independence Day Mushaira at Dhaka, East Pakistan along with Jigar Moradabadi. In 1952, he visited East Pakistan where the noted Urdu scholar Abdul Haq offered him the job of General Secretary in the ‘'Anjuman-i Taraqqi-i Urdu’', in their Dhaka branch office and he started a magazine named ‘Filkaar’ there. Barabanki
Barabanki is a city and a municipal board in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is administrative headquarters of Barabanki district. The city is about 30 km east of Lucknow, the state capital. It has a population of 146,831 with a density of 331.00 per square kilometre (860.0/sq mi). History The Barabanki district was first established by the British upon their annexation of Oudh State in 1856. Originally, the district was known as Daryabad district because its headquarters were at Daryabad, but in 1859 they were relocated to Barabanki. Robin Ghosh ( bn, রবিন ঘোষ, ur, ; 13 September 1939 – 13 February 2016) was a Pakistani-Bangladeshi playback singer and film music composer, best known for singing and composing music for Lollywood films from 1961 to 1986. Playback singer Ahmed Rushdi has a notable contribution to Ghosh's success. Krishan Chander
Krishan Chander (23 November 1914 – 8 March 1977) was an Indian Urdu and Hindi writer of short stories and novels. Some of his works have also been translated in English. He was a prolific writer, penning over 20 novels, 30 collections of short stories and scores of radio plays in Urdu, and later, after Partition of India, partition in 1947, took to writing in Hindi as well. He also wrote screen-plays for Bollywood movies to supplement his meagre income as an author of satirical stories.
