Suriname National Cricket Team
The Suriname national cricket team is the team that represents Suriname in international cricket. The team is organised by the Suriname Cricket Board, which has been an List of International Cricket Council members, associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 2011 (and previous an affiliate member from 2002). Suriname made its international debut at the 2004 Americas Affiliates Championship in Panama, where it placed last. At the 2006 ICC Americas Championship, the team won the division three event, and was promoted to division two for the 2008 ICC Americas Championship, 2008 edition. Suriname also won that event, and were promoted to the 2008 ICC Americas Championship Division One, 2008 Division One tournament in the United States, but were immediately relegated after going winless. The Suriname Cricket Board (Dutch: ''Surinaamse Cricket Bond''; SCB) is the official governing body of the sport of cricket in Suriname. Its headquarters are located in Paramaribo, Suriname. The SCB is Suriname's representative at the International Cricket Council, and has been an associate member of that body since 2002. It is included in the ICC Americas development region. 2016 ICC World Cricket League Division Five
The 2016 ICC World Cricket League Division Five was an international cricket tournament that took place in Jersey during May 2016. It formed part of the 2012–18 ICC World Cricket League, 2012–18 cycle of the World Cricket League (WCL). The Jersey Cricket Board were awarded the hosting rights in October 2015, with the Nigeria Cricket Federation the only other bidder. The competition's final was played at the Grainville Cricket Ground in Saint Saviour, Jersey, Saint Saviour, with Jersey national cricket team, Jersey defeating Oman cricket team, Oman by 44 runs. Cricket In Suriname
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. The Chile national cricket team is the team that represents Chile in international cricket. The team is organised by the Chilean Cricket Association, which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001 and an associate member in 2017. However, the national side had debuted as early as 1893, when it played Argentina in Santiago. Chile began playing regular international matches in the early 1920s, and, with the exception of a gap during World War II, has continued to do so since then. Until the team affiliated to the ICC, its opponents were almost all other South American teams. The Brazil national cricket team is the men's team that represents the country of Brazil in international cricket. The team is organised by the Brazilian Cricket Association, which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2002 and an associate member in 2017. ICC Americas Championship
The ICC Americas Championship is a one-day cricket tournament organised by ICC Americas for non-Test national cricket teams in the Americas affiliated with the International Cricket Council. As well as providing the opportunity for national teams to play international matches against teams of a similar standard, it also provides qualification into the ICC World Cricket League. There are currently four divisions taking place biannually with promotion and relegation taking place between divisions.
