Surfing At The 2019 Pan American Games
Surfing competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games were held between July 30th and August 4th, 2019 at beach in the Punta Negra District of Peru. The sport of surfing will be making its Pan American Games debut. In July 2015, days before the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada, the then Pan American Sports Organization added the sport to the Pan American Games sports program. In 2016, the International Olympic Committee made several changes to its sports program, which were subsequently implemented for these games. Surfing was added, but was already included in the 2019 program a year earlier. 8 medal events are scheduled to be contested. Four per each gender A total of 88 surfers will qualify to compete at the games. The event will be used as a qualifier for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Surfing At The 2023 Pan American Games
Surfing competitions at the 2023 Pan American Games are scheduled to be held between October 24th and 30th, 2023 at Punta de Lobos beach in the Pichilemu commune of Chile. 8 medal events are scheduled to be contested (four per each gender). A total of 88 surfers will qualify to compete at the games. The longboard event will be used as a qualifier for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. Qualification A total of 88 surfers will qualify across various qualification tournaments. The host nation Chile, will be automatically be allocated ten quota spots across the eight events. In the shortboard category, a country can enter two athletes, with a maximum one in all other categories. A country can enter a maximum ten surfers (five per gender). An athlete can only qualify one quota for their country. Bryan Pérez (surfer)
Bryan Pérez (born November 1, 1988) is a former professional footballer and coach. Career Youth and college As a child, Pérez was a member of Costa Rican powerhouse Saprissa's Futbol Academy, and at the age of 11 he was chosen to be a member of Saprissa traveling youth club. Pérez moved with his family to Miramar, Florida in the early 2000s; he attended Miami Killian High School, and went on to play four years of college soccer at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, ending his career there as the team's all-time leader in goals (29), points (70), shots(160), and games played (78). During his college years, Pérez also played with Kansas City Brass in the USL Premier Development League. Professional Pérez was signed by Miami FC of the USSF Division 2 Professional League in February 2010. He made his professional debut on June 19, 2010 as a substitute in a 3-1 loss to the Austin Aztex, but played just one more game for Miami before being released by the team mid-season. ...

Dominic Isabel Barona Matute (born 10 February 1991) is an Ecuadorian surfer. She is regarded as one of the prominent surfers in Ecuador. Her brother Israel Barona is also a surfer who represents Ecuador at international level. She is the first surfer from Ecuador to have competed at the Olympics. Career Barona pursued her interest in surfing at the age of 13 after being influenced by her older brother Israel. Little by little, she began to follow the Alas circuit in Peru, then in Costa Rica and Panama.
