''Sure Feels Good'' is the 18th solo studio album released by American country artist Barbara Mandrell. The album was released in July 1987 on EMI America Records and was produced by Tom Collins. It was Mandrell's first album released under EMI America since leaving MCA Records one year earlier. Background and content ''Sure Feels Good'' was recorded in January 1987 in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. It was produced by Tom Collins, who Mandrell carried over from her MCA Records run. The album consisted of 10 tracks, similar to most of her previous albums. The sixth track entitled "Angels Love Bad Men" was co-written by Waylon Jennings and featured Jennings performing on the track with Mandrell. Jennings also wrote the album's opening track "Just to Satisfy You". Most of the album's material consisted of Country pop ballads as was her previous releases. Barbara Ann Mandrell (born December 25, 1948) is an American country music singer and musician. She is also credited as an actress and author. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, she was considered among country's most successful music artists. She had six number one singles and 25 top ten singles reach the ''Billboard'' country songs chart. She also hosted her own prime–time television show in the early 1980s that featured music, dance numbers and comedy sketches. Thom Schuyler
Thomas James Schuyler (born June 10, 1952, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) is an American songwriter. Schuyler wrote songs recorded by more than 200 various artists including "16th Avenue" for Lacy J. Dalton, "Love Will Turn You Around" for Kenny Rogers, and "A Long Line of Love" for Michael Martin Murphey. In 1983, Schuyler signed to Capitol Records and released the album ''Brave Heart''. Its title track was a No. 43 single on the Hot Country Singles (now Hot Country Songs) charts. Later, he founded the trio S-K-O (originally known as Schuyler, Knobloch & Overstreet) with J. Fred Knobloch and Paul Overstreet. S-K-O charted seven singles in the mid-1980s, including the Number One hit "Baby's Got a New Baby". Overstreet later assumed a solo career and the trio was renamed S-K-B when Craig Bickhardt replaced him. Robert Keith Stegall (born November 1, 1955) is an American country music recording artist and record producer. Active since 1980, Stegall has recorded two major-label studio albums: 1985's ''Keith Stegall'' and 1996's ''Passages'', although he is mainly known for his production work. Musical career Robert Keith Stegall was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1955. He performed in local bands, spent a short time in northwestern Louisiana (in the mid-1970s) where he operated a small-time music recording business, then moved to Nashville, Tennessee, at the persuasion of Kris Kristofferson. Don Bowman (August 26, 1937 – June 5, 2013) was an American country music singer, songwriter, comedian, and radio host. He recorded for RCA Victor between 1964 and 1970, charting in the Top 40 with the novelty hit single "Chit Akins, Make Me a Star". Bowman also worked at several radio stations, including KRZK in Branson, Missouri. At this time, he was also opening the show for Moe Bandy doing Seymore Miles. Bowman also worked at KDEO San Diego, KEWB Oakland, KDWB St. Paul, and KBBQ Burbank. He developed a fictional character for his radio shows named Gruesome Goodbody. In 1961 he had a country hit "Coward at the Alamo." Bowman was born in Lubbock, Texas, and was the original host of the radio show ''American Country Countdown''. "Just to Satisfy You" is a song written by American country music singers Waylon Jennings and Don Bowman in 1963. Jennings included the song in his performing repertoire, and on radio, where the song became a local hit in Phoenix, Arizona. The song was later re-recorded and made the title-track of his 1969 album, while in 1982 he once again re-recorded it as a duet version along with Willie Nelson, that peaked at number one for two weeks on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Singles. The song was also released in June 1967 by Glen Campbell on the Burning Bridges album and in January 1970 by Jerry Reed on his album Cookin'.
