Souk Al Shoyukh Stadium
Suq Al-Shuyukh Stadium (Arabic: ملعب سوق الشيوخ) is a multi-use stadium in Dhi Qar Governorate, Iraq. It is currently used mostly for football matches and serves as the home stadium of Al-Forat FC and Suq Al-Shuyukh FC. The stadium holds 5,000 people. Its construction cost approximately 7.5 million USD. The stadium was inaugurated on 1 March 2015 by former Minister of Youth and Sports Abdul-Hussein Abtaan. Iraq Division One
The Iraq Division One is the second-highest division of the Iraqi football league system after the Premier League. The league is contested by 24 clubs. It is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA). Each season, the two top-finishing teams in the Division One are automatically promoted to the Premier League. The four lowest-finishing teams in the Division One are relegated to Division Two. The number of clubs in the league have changed throughout history, most recently in the 2021–22 season when the number of clubs decreased from 28 to 24. 2020–21 Iraq Division One
The 2020–21 Iraq Division One was the 47th season of the Iraq Division One, the second tier of the Iraqi football league system since its establishment in 1974. The number of clubs in the league have changed throughout history due to several factors, most recently in this season when the number of clubs increased from 12 to 28 in total. The top team from each group is directly promoted to the Premier League, while a third club can be promoted through play-offs, on the other hand, two clubs from each group are directly relegated to the Division Two. Al-Sinaa won the title and were promoted alongside runners-up Newroz. Format Teams from all over Iraq participated in preliminary qualifications for the final stage. Suq Al-Shuyukh District ( ar, قضاء سوق الشيوخ; also called Suq al-Shoyokh District) is a district of the Dhi Qar Governorate, Iraq. Suq al-Shuyukh is a small town surrounded by date palm orchards and located on the right bank of the Euphrates, at the western end of the Hawr al-Hammar lake and wetlands, about 40 km southeast of Nasiriya. Suq al-Shuyukh is a center of date and rice cultivation, which takes place in the areas to the north and west of the lake. History Suq al-Shuyukh was founded in the early 18th century to serve as the suq (i.e. marketplace) of the Muntafiq tribal confederation. The leader of the entire Muntafiq confederation resided at Kut al-Shuyukh, four hours to the east. The name "Shuyukh" refers to the members of his clan. The 2019–20 Iraq FA Cup was the 30th edition of the Iraqi knockout football cup as a clubs-only competition, the main domestic cup in Iraqi football, featuring a total of 20 teams from the Iraqi Premier League and 48 teams from the Iraqi First Division League and Iraqi Second Division League. The tournament started on 12 September 2019, but was cancelled during the Round of 32 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
