Superstar K 2016
Superstar K 2016 () is the eighth current season of the South Korean television talent show series Superstar K, which premiered on 22 September 2016 on Mnet and airs every Thursday night at 9:40PM KST. Eliminations are determined in every episode, based on text message votes and online votes that are open to the entire public. The winner of Superstar K 2016 will receive 500,000,000 won (US$470,990). Kim Bum-soo had been confirmed return to appear on the show. Gummy, Gil Seong-joon, Kim Yeon-woo, Brave Brothers, Ailee, Han Sung-ho of FNC Entertainment have joined him in the list of judges. The lineup is a mixture of veteran singers and producers in the industry. The judges will be separated into the categories of "Legendary Vocal", "Trendy Artist", and "Star Maker". The contestants will be judged not only on their vocals but their star power, public appeal, and potential. Kim Bum-soo
Kim Bum-soo (; born January 26, 1979), is a South Korean singer who is widely considered one of the country's best vocalists. Kim debuted in 1999 with the album, ''A Promise'', and in 2001, he charted on the '' Billboard'' Hot Singles Sales chart with his song "Hello Goodbye Hello" which reached number 51. He is best known for the song, "I Miss You," which was featured on the soundtrack for the 2003 Korean drama, '' Stairway to Heaven''. "One Candle" () is a song performed by South Korean boy band g.o.d. It is from their third album ''Chapter 3'' (2000), and has since become one of their most widely-known songs. Music The lyrics and music were composed by Park Jin-young. He stated that the lyrics were inspired by a quote he saw on graffiti while visiting New York City: "Better to light a candle than curse the darkness." The song was promoted alongside the title track " Lies". At that time, the group was not managed by his company JYP Entertainment but he worked closely with them as a producer and songwriter. The accompanying soundtrack was also included in the album and was arranged by composer and music producer Bang Si-hyuk, who went on to establish Big Hit Entertainment. Jung Joon-young (born February 21, 1989) is a South Korean former singer-songwriter, radio DJ, host, actor, television personality and convicted serial rapist. Frederic Edward Weatherly, KC (4 October 1848 – 7 September 1929) was an English lawyer, author, lyricist and broadcaster. Park Hye-won (; born January 15, 1998), also known by the stage name Hynn (; stylised in all caps), is a South Korean singer and songwriter.
