Superman (Kingdom Come)
The Superman of ''Kingdom Come'' (usually referred to as Kingdom Come Superman) is a fictional character, an alternate version of Superman in the DC Comics universe. First introduced in ''Kingdom Come'' #1 (May 1996), Kingdom Come Superman was created by Mark Waid and Alex Ross. The character was loosely adapted in the Arrowverse crossover " Crisis on Infinite Earths" portrayed by Brandon Routh. Publication history The Superman of ''Kingdom Come'' first appeared as the main character of the 1996 Elseworlds miniseries ''Kingdom Come'' written by Mark Waid and Alex Ross with art by Ross, set in the future of the DC Universe. In 1999, '' The Kingdom'', a sequel to ''Kingdom Come'' written by Waid but without the involvement of Ross, was published. This series again featured this version of Superman as a central character. ''Kingdom Come'' is a four-issue comic book miniseries published in 1996 by DC Comics under their Elseworlds imprint. It was written by Mark Waid and Alex Ross and painted in gouache by Ross, who also developed the concept from an original idea. The story is set in the near future of the DC Universe. The new generation of heroes have lost their moral compass, becoming as reckless and violent as the villains they fight. The previous regime of heroes—the Justice League—returns under dire circumstances, which sets up a battle of the old guard against these uncompromising protectors in a conflict that will define what heroism truly is and determine the future of the planet. Brandon James Routh (; born October 9, 1979) is an American actor. He portrayed Superman in the 2006 film ''Superman Returns'', which garnered him international fame. In 2011, he played the titular character of the film '' Dylan Dog: Dead of Night''. He also had a recurring role in the NBC series ''Chuck'', as Daniel Shaw. Routh also has supporting roles in the films ''Zack and Miri Make a Porno'' and '' Scott Pilgrim vs. the World''. Parasite is the name of several supervillains appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Each version of the character has the ability to temporarily absorb the life-energy, superpowers, and knowledge of others. The Fortress of Solitude is a fictional fortress appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly in association with Superman. It is the place where Superman first learned about his true identity, heritage, and purpose on Earth. The fortress functions as a place of solace/occasional headquarters for Superman and is typically depicted as being in frozen tundra, away from civilization.
