Swanson Group Aviation, formerly Superior Helicopter, is a helicopter operating company based in Glendale, Oregon, United States. SGA operates a fleet of Kaman K-MAX helicopters. It an after sales support pilot and engineer services division for aerial firefighting, aerial construction and unmanned aircraft support. SGA was one of the original launch customers of the Kaman K-MAX, and supported the USMC in Afghanistan with their partners Kaman and Lockheed Martin with UAS Kmax. The company is considered one of the most experienced operators of this model, having logged over 80,000 flight hours as of 2015. Douglas County is one of the 36 counties in the U.S. state of Oregon. As of the 2020 census, the population was 111,201. The county seat is Roseburg. The county is named after Stephen A. An aerial crane or flying crane is a helicopter used to lift heavy or awkward loads. As aerial cranes, helicopters carry loads connected to long cables or slings in order to place heavy equipment when other methods are not available or economically feasible, or when the job must be accomplished in remote or inaccessible areas, such as the tops of tall buildings or the top of a hill or mountain, far from the nearest road. Glendale, Oregon
Glendale is a city in Douglas County, Oregon, United States. The population was 874 at the 2010 census. History After construction of a railroad line south from Roseburg in 1881–83, Solomon Abraham, the local right-of-way agent, platted the community and named it "Julia" after his wife. After a dispute with Abraham, A. F. Morris, the chief engineer for the railroad, changed the name to "Glendale". A Julia post office was established in February 1883, and its name was changed to Glendale in August of the same year. L. D. Montgomery was the first postmaster. Fire destroyed much of Glendale's business district in 1928. Glendale was quickly rebuilt. In the 1880s, Russian-Jewish immigrants came here trying to escape the anti-Semitic rule of Alexander III.
