Super Request
''Super Request'' was a weeknight radio program broadcast by Australian national youth radio broadcaster Triple J. The show aired Monday to Thursday between 6pm and 9pm and Fridays from 6pm to 10pm, due to there being no Home & Hosed on Fridays. The show premiered in January 1998 with host Jane Gazzo and finished up in 2011 with long-time host Rosie Beaton. Prior to that, it was known as the Request Fest. Past hosts have included Catriona Rowntree, Michael Tunn and Caroline Tran. Gaby Brown was a former regular fill-in presenter. (The name Super Request was coined by Gazzo after a trip to Japan in late ‘97) Each day had regular segments which included a broadcast of a Live at the Wireless set on Mondays. Triple J
Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian Radio in Australia, radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting music of Australia, Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Rosie Beaton
Rosie Beaton is an Australian radio announcer, best known for her work at Australian youth radio station Triple J. Radio career In 2001, Beaton was appointed host of Triple J's evening music program ''Super Request'' which aired weekdays at 6pm. Earlier, Beaton co-hosted the ''Net 50'' program with Justin Wilcomes on its debut in 1999. Rosie also hosts Billboard on Qantas' Q Radio program ''Billboard'', this can be heard while flying on Qantas. Beaton replaced Mike Hammond. Catriona Rowntree
Catriona Rowntree (born 19 July 1971) is an Australian television presenter. Rowntree is currently a presenter on the Nine Network's '' Getaway'' program. Career Rowntree studied journalism at Macleay College in Sydney, after working as a researcher with Business Review Weekly, 2GB and Prime Television. In 1991, she moved to FM radio as a newsreader and music and lifestyle program host, first in community radio and then with the ABC youth station Triple J, for which she presented until 1996. In 1992, Rowntree was hired as a researcher for the Nine Network children's series ''Wonder World!'', graduating to the position of reporter the following year, and host in 1994. Caroline Tran
Caroline Tran (born c. 1971) is an Australian radio announcer on the national youth broadcaster Triple J. She moved to Melbourne, Australia, from Vietnam with her family when she was three. As an adult, she worked several other jobs before getting involved with radio broadcasting at the Australian Film Television and Radio School. She landed the position of ''SuperRequest'' host at Triple J in 1999. After two years she switched to the weekday lunch timeslot in 2001, and as of 2003 she switched to the weekend breakfast slot. Tran is closely involved with Triple J's Australian music area. Live At The Wireless
''Live at the Wireless'' is a radio show, and now a long-standing tradition, of Triple J, an Australian radio station. Live music is one of the central philosophies of the station. The live broadcasts take a number of forms. Some broadcasts are from open-air concerts and festivals, or smaller pub gigs around the country. Many are bands that have been invited into the Triple J studios to play a live set of tracks, usually acoustic. Occasionally, Triple J will give away tickets to listeners, to allow them to be a part of a special live performance in a secret location. All of the live broadcasts are recorded, and the station has released several double-CD compilations of live tracks. Many complete live sets are traded by music fans worldwide over the internet.
