Super Junior Discography
This is the discography of South Korean boy band, Super Junior, produced and managed by SM Entertainment. Super Junior has formed five sub-groups, which target different markets. Super Junior-T, for example, brought influence to the younger generation on trot-styled music, and Super Junior-M is credited as an influential group in the Chinese music industry. The group has released twelve studio albums, two compilation albums, two extended plays, six live albums, and two single albums. The group also contributed in a total seven soundtracks and sixteen video albums. The releases below are music records officially released by Super Junior, although the group has also unofficially-released productions, such as opening themes for radio shows and television shows. Their fourth album '' Bonamana'' is listed as the best-selling album of 2010 with 200,193 copies sold, and the repackaged version at ninth at 99,355 copies. ''Twins'' (also known as ''Super Junior 05'') is the debut studio album by South Korean boy band Super Junior 05, now known as just Super Junior. It was released through SM Entertainment on December 5, 2005. The album spawned two singles: the group'ss debut single "Twins (Knock Out)" and "Miracle". Commercially, ''Twins'' peaked at number three on the South Korean monthly MIAK album chart in December 2005, selling 28,536 copies within its first month of release. Since then, the album has sold over 100,000 copies. Top Heatseekers
Top Heatseekers are "Breaking and Entering" music charts issued weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. The Heatseekers Albums and the Heatseekers Songs charts were introduced by ''Billboard'' in 1991 with the purpose of highlighting the sales by new and developing musical recording artists. Albums and songs appearing on Top Heatseekers may also concurrently appear on the ''Billboard'' 200 or ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Albums chart The Heatseekers Albums chart contains 25 positions that are ranked by Nielsen SoundScan sales data, and charts album titles from "new or developing acts" as determined by the acts' historical chart performance. The ''Billboard'' charts tabulate the relative weekly popularity of songs and albums in the United States and elsewhere. The results are published in ''Billboard'' magazine. ''Billboard'' biz, the online extension of the ''Billboard'' charts, provides additional weekly charts, as well as year-end charts. Oricon
, established in 1999, is the holding company at the head of a Japanese corporate group that supplies statistics and information on music and the music industry in Japan and Western music. It started as, which was founded by Sōkō Koike in November 1967 and became known for its music charts. Oricon Inc. was originally set up as a subsidiary of Original Confidence and took over the latter's Oricon record charts in April 2002. The charts are compiled from data drawn from some 39,700 retail outlets (as of April 2011) and provide sales rankings of music CDs, DVDs, electronic games, and other entertainment products based on weekly tabulations. List Of Number-one Albums In South Korea (1998–2008)
Between August 1998 and September 2008, the Recording Industry Association of Korea (RIAK) and the Music Industry Association of Korea (MIAK) published a monthly record chart, ranking the best-selling CDs and cassettes within South Korea. At least 100 albums and two singles have topped the chart during the course of its existence. In early 1998, South Korea's National Tax Service decided that the music industry should be more transparent. The Korean Video Record Association decided in a meeting held on July 23, 1998, that record sales should be tracked and released on a monthly basis. The record labels had to submit the sales of an album up to six months after its release. The data had to be submitted until the 7th of every month and was released by the RIAK on the 10th. The Circle Chart (), previously known as the Gaon Music Chart or the Gaon Chart (), tabulates the relative weekly popularity of songs and albums in South Korea. It is produced by the Korea Music Content Association and sponsored by South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Founded in 2010. The Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) is a South Korean non-profit copyright collective for musical works, administering public performance and broadcasting rights, and mechanical recording and reproduction rights. Founded in 1964, it is the second collective rights management organization for musical works in Asia, after JASRAC in Japan. It is also one of the largest in Asia, with over 40,000 members. In 2021, it collected (US$221 million) in licensing fees and distributed ₩256 billion (US$196 million) in royalties to its members.
