''Super D'' is an EP by Ben Folds, the last of 3 in a series released between ''Rockin' the Suburbs'' and ''Songs for Silverman''. It has three original songs and two covers: The Darkness' "Get Your Hands Off My Woman", and a live performance of Ray Charles' "Them That Got", included as a tribute to Charles who had recently died. Folds wrote "Kalamazoo" when he was 19, and knocked it around for years on demo tapes before inclusion here, adding a disco-like string section "because ecould". "Adelaide" is an affectionate piece inspired by Adelaide, South Australia where Folds once made his home. Benjamin Scott Folds (born September 12, 1966) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and composer, who is the first artistic advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., since May 2017. Folds was the frontman and pianist of the alternative rock trio Ben Folds Five from 1993 to 2000, and again in the early 2010s during their reunion. He has recorded a number of solo albums and performed live as a solo artist. He has also collaborated with musicians such as William Shatner, Regina Spektor, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and yMusic, and undertaken experimental songwriting projects with authors such as Nick Hornby and Neil Gaiman. ''Songs for Silverman'' is the second solo studio album by Ben Folds, released in April 2005 by Epic Records. The album reached No. 13 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200, making it Folds' highest-charting album until the release of ''Way to Normal'' in 2008. The album is named after Ben Goldman, Folds' former A&R representative at Sony BMG. Folds explained, "I was always sending songs to him for the album, so I wanted to name it after him. But somebody (from Sony) found out and flipped out, so I changed it a bit and turned it in." Goldman's name also spawned the title of Folds' compilation album ''Songs for Goldfish''. ''Rockin' the Suburbs'' is the debut studio album by American alternative rock singer-songwriter Ben Folds. His first solo album after leaving his band Ben Folds Five, ''Rockin' the Suburbs'' was recorded in Adelaide, Australia, where Folds was living at the time and was released on the same day as the September 11 attacks. The Darkness are a British rock band formed in Lowestoft, England. The band consists of Justin Hawkins (lead vocals, lead guitar), his brother Dan Hawkins (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Frankie Poullain (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Rufus Tiger Taylor (drums, backing vocals). The Darkness came to prominence with the release of their debut album, ''Permission to Land'', in 2003. Backed by the singles "I Believe in a Thing Called Love", "Growing on Me", "Get Your Hands off My Woman", and "Love Is Only a Feeling", the album was certified quadruple platinum in the United Kingdom, with sales of over 1.3 million. Ray Charles Robinson Sr. (September 23, 1930 – June 10, 2004) was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. The 2004 Triple J Hottest 100 was announced on 26 January 2005. It was the twelfth such countdown of the most popular songs of the year, according to listeners of the Australian radio station Triple J. Voters were limited to 20 votes each: 10 via SMS (charged at 30c each) and 10 via the Internet (no charge). U2's "Vertigo" placed at number 38, despite having not been played on Triple J. Triple J presenter Craig Reucassel encouraged voters to vote for the '' Media Watch'' theme music on the condition that his counterpart Chris Taylor would do a nude run through the Big Day Out if it made the hottest 100. "Get Your Hands off My Woman" is the debut single by the English rock band the Darkness. The song was released in February 2003 as the lead single from the group's debut studio album, ''Permission to Land''. Although the single went on to win a ''Metal Hammer'' " Golden God" award for best single, it has become the band's lowest charting single worldwide. Credited to all four members of the group, the song supposedly reflected personal experiences of lead vocalist Justin Hawkins.
