Sunshine Forever
Sunshine Forever (March 14, 1985 – January 7, 2014) was an American Champion Thoroughbred racehorse. Bred by Darby Dan Farm owner John W. Galbreath who owned his dam, Outward Sunshine, and his damsire, Graustark, Sunshine Forever was sired by Galbreath's 1972 Epsom Derby winner, Roberto. Trained by future U.S. Racing Hall of Fame inductee, John M. Veitch, Sunshine Forever was voted the Eclipse Award for American Champion Male Turf Horse following a 1988 season in which he won three Grade I races. In addition to winning the important Turf Classic, Man o' War Stakes, and the Washington, D.C. International Stakes, the colt ran second to Great Communicator in the Breeders' Cup Turf and third to winner Mill Native in the Arlington Million. Aqueduct Racetrack is a Thoroughbred horse racing facility and casino in the South Ozone Park, Queens, South Ozone Park and Jamaica, Queens, Jamaica neighborhoods of Queens, New York City, United States. Fort Marcy Handicap
The Fort Marcy Stakes is a Grade II American Thoroughbred horse race for three-years-old and older run over a distance of miles on the turf annually in early May at Belmont Park, in Elmont, New York. The event currently offers a purse of $150,000 added. History It was initially known as the Fort Marcy Handicap but was renamed to the Fort Marcy Stakes beginning with its 2009 running. The race is named for the U.S. Racing Hall of Fame horse, Fort Marcy. Inaugurated on 31 August 1975, the event was run at Belmont Park a distance of seven furlongs. The Canadian Turf Stakes is a Grade III American Thoroughbred horse race, by invitation for four-year-olds and older over a distance of one and one-sixteenth miles on the turf track, held annually in late February or early March at Gulfstream Park, Hallandale Beach, Florida. The Arlington Million is a Grade 1 flat horse race in the United States for thoroughbred horses aged three years and upward on the turf. It was originally raced at the now-closed Arlington Park in Arlington Heights, Illinois over a distance of miles. In 2022, it will be moved to Churchill Downs. The Breeders' Cup Turf is a Weight for Age Thoroughbred horse race on turf for three-year-olds and up. It is held annually at a different racetrack in the United States or Canada as part of the Breeders' Cup World Championships. The race's current title sponsor is Longines. The race is run at the European Classic distance of miles, making it one of the most internationally appealing races on the Breeders' Cup lineup.
