Sunshine (soundtrack)
''Sunshine: Music from the Motion Picture'' is the soundtrack album for the 2007 Danny Boyle film ''Sunshine''. It is a joint composition by the electronic band Underworld and film score composer John Murphy. Underworld has a long history of collaboration with Boyle, having been featured on the soundtracks of Boyle's ''Trainspotting'', ''A Life Less Ordinary'', and '' The Beach''. Murphy composed the scores to Boyle's ''28 Days Later'' and '' Millions''. The Sunshine soundtrack also includes "Avenue of Hope", a song released by I Am Kloot two years before its inclusion in the film, and "Peggy Sussed" by Underworld. These tracks are featured during the film's end credits. Release The soundtrack release was held up for over a year with lawyers trying to resolve unspecified legal issues. Underworld are a British electronic music group formed in 1987 in Cardiff, Wales and the principal collaborative project of Karl Hyde and Rick Smith. Prominent former members include Darren Emerson, from 1991 to 2001, and Darren Price, as part of the live band from 2005 to 2016. After briefly performing as a funk and synth-pop outfit, resulting in two albums between 1988 and 1989, Underworld gained prominence after reshaping into a alternative dance, dance and techno band, releasing albums including ''Dubnobasswithmyheadman'' (1994), ''Second Toughest in the Infants'' (1996) and ''Beaucoup Fish'' (1999), as well as singles "Born Slippy .NUXX" and "Dark & Long, Dark & Long (Dark Train)". ''Music from the Motion Picture'' is an album by 10,000 Maniacs. The album, their first full-length in 14 years, contains eleven original songs. This album is the first to feature guitarist Jeff Erickson since he took over for Robert Buck following his death in 2000, and the first Maniacs album to feature Mary Ramsey without her longtime music partner, John Lombardo. In addition to his guitar efforts, Erickson provides the first male lead vocals on a Maniacs song since John Lombardo's vocal on the ''Human Conflict Number Five'' album of 1982. As with 1999's '' The Earth Pressed Flat'' and the following 2015 album ''Twice Told Tales'', the album did not chart in either the US or the UK. "Wildfire" is the fifth and penultimate episode of the first season of the post-apocalyptic horror television series '' The Walking Dead''.
