''Sunnmøringen'' (The Sunnmøre Resident) is a local Norwegian newspaper published twice a week in the municipality of Stranda in Møre og Romsdal county. The paper covers news from the municipality of Stranda. It was edited from 1994 to 2007 by Helge Søvik, and then by Gyri Aure from 2007 to 2008, when Herborg Bergaplass took over the editorship. In 2017, Bjørn Arild Hatlem was succeeded by Johan Behrentz as editor. The newspaper is owned by Polaris Media. Stranda
Stranda is a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is part of the Sunnmøre region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Stranda. Stranda consists of three smaller villages and one larger central village. The smaller villages are Hellesylt, Geiranger, and Liabygda. The central village, Stranda (same name as the municipality), has about 2,600 inhabitants. The National Association of Local Newspapers ( no, Landslaget for lokalaviser, LLA) is a Norwegian association for local newspapers. The organization was established in Voss in 1976, and it works for its member companies' general conditions and interests. Among the first issues it dealt with was inclusion of the smallest local newspapers in the direct press support system, which occurred in 1989. The association is now a co-owner of the Norwegian Audit Bureau of Circulations, the company responsible for monitoring newspapers' circulation figures. These figures are the basis for receiving press subsidies. The association also represents its member companies in various government agencies and committees. Sunnmøre (, en, South- Møre) is the southernmost traditional district of the western Norwegian county of Møre og Romsdal. Its main city is Ålesund.
