Sunlight (foaled 9 October 2015) is a three-time Group 1 winning Australian bred thoroughbred racehorse. Background Sunlight was purchased for $300,000 at the 2017 Magic Millions sale. She is by multiple Group I winner Zoustar, out of the former smart mare Solar Charged, a two-time Group III winner of the Kindergarten Stakes and Thoroughbred Club Stakes. Racing career Sunlight made her debut at Flemington Racecourse in October 2017 where she finished third in the Maribyrnong Trial Stakes. Two months later she won her first race at the Gold Coast when leading all the way to win by 4.75 lengths. She repeated this effort two weeks later at the same course when winning by 4.5 lengths. These races were used as a lead up to the Magic Millions 2YO Classic run on the same course in January 2018. Zoustar (foaled 8 September 2010) is a two-time Group 1 winning Australian Thoroughbred racehorse and successful sire who has sired multiple stakes winners. Background Originally bred by Racetree Stud outside of Beaudesert, Queensland, Zoustar was sold for A$85,000 at the 2011 National Weanling Sale. He was sold again at the 2012 Magic Millions yearling sale for A$140,000 to syndicator Sheriff Iskander. Racing career Zoustar was successful in his first start on the 13 April 2013 winning at Canterbury by almost two-lengths. He won his next two starts culminating in his first stakes race when taking out the Sires' Produce Stakes at Doomben. As a three-year-old Zoustar won his first Group 1, the Golden Rose Stakes at Rosehill. Coolmore Stud, in Fethard, County Tipperary, Ireland, is headquarters of the world's largest breeding operation of thoroughbred racehorses. The Goodwood is a South Australian Jockey Club Group 1 Thoroughbred horse race for three years old and older, run at set weights with penalties, over a distance of 1200 metres at Morphettville Racecourse, Adelaide, South Australia in the SAJC Autumn Carnival. History In 2007 the race conditions were set weights and penalties after previously being a handicap race throughout its 121-year history and was renamed The Goodwood from Goodwood Handicap. Nature Strip (foaled 16 November 2014) is an Australian Thoroughbred racehorse who was the 2020 and 2022 Australian Champion Racehorse of the Year, a nine-time Group 1 winner, and the winner of The Everest in 2021, the richest turf race in the world. Background Nature Strip was passed in for $90,000 at the 2016 Inglis Premier Yearling sale and sent to trainer Robert Smerdon by breeders Golden Grove Farm.
