Sungkai Railway Station
The Sungkai railway station is a Malaysian train station stationed at the north eastern side of and named after the town of Sungkai, Perak, Malaysia. The station was reopened and electrified in March 2007 as part of the double tracking project between Rawang and Ipoh. At one end of this station, there is a freight yard. It was made prior to the Railway electrification in Malaysia, Rawang-Ipoh Electrified Double Tracking Project. Location and locality This station is located in Taman Permai Jaya, Sungkai, in Batang Padang district of Perak, Malaysia and is very close to Sungkai town. It is accessible directly via junction to the station at Route A189 which stretch between FELDA Besout estates, Changkat Sulaiman and Sungkai town. Perak () is a state of Malaysia on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula. KTM ETS
The KTM ETS (commercially known as ETS, short for 'Electric Train Service') is an inter-city rail passenger service operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) using electric multiple-unit (EMU) trains. The KTM ETS is the second electric train service to be operated by the Malaysian railway company, after the KTM Komuter service, and the second inter-city rail service, after KTM Intercity. Side Platform
A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) (Jawi: كريتاڤي تانه ملايو برحد) or Malayan Railways Limited is the main rail operator in Peninsular Malaysia. The railway system dates back to the British colonial era, when it was first built to transport tin. Railway Electrification In Malaysia
Railway electrification in Malaysia is a relatively recent development of rail transport in Malaysia. While the first railway in the country dates back to 1885, it was not until 3 August 1995 that the first electrified railway service, KTM Komuter, began operations. The term "railway electrification" mainly refers to the project to electrify the Keretapi Tanah Melayu's West Coast Line from Padang Besar to Johor Bahru, combined with the duplication of the single-track line and the elimination of level crossings. As of November 2015, the stretch between Padang Besar and Gemas has been completed, with two electrified train services operating on the stretch: the KTM Komuter and the ETS. Batang Padang District
The Batang Padang District ( ms, Daerah Batang Padang) is a district in Perak, Malaysia. This district is administered by a local council, namely, the Tapah District Council, based in Tapah. The major towns of Batang Padang are Bidor, Tapah and Sungkai. In August 2007 the Perak Government announced the discovery of large water aquifers at Batang Padang.
