Sunday Best is a gospel-singing reality television competition on BET. The fifth season of Sunday Best saw the removal of Erica and Tina Campbell as a judge and the Returning of Yolanda Adams as a judge and the Debut of CeCe Winans . Season 5 of Sunday Best began auditioning/taping in March 2012. The season began airing in July 2012 and concluded in September 2012. Sunday Best (American TV Series)
''Sunday Best'' is a reality television singing competition series hosted by Kirk Franklin. It first aired on BET in October 2007. In each season, the show and its judges set out to find the best undiscovered gospel talent in America. Finalists competed each week until a winner was crowned. The judges throughout the series' run included Gospel singers Yolanda Adams, Kierra Sheard, Donnie McClurkin, Mary Mary, Bebe Winans & Cece Winans. Gospel singer Kim Burrell served as the on-screen mentor. Each season's winner receives a national recording contract, a new automobile, and an undisclosed cash prize benefiting his or her community as well as the title of 'Sunday Best'. On April 18, 2019, it was announced that the series will return for a ninth season, which premiered on June 30, 2019. Joshua Rogers (born March 22, 1994) is an American gospel singer who rose to prominence in 2012 when he became the first male and youngest winner of Black Entertainment Television's '' Sunday Best'' during the show's fifth season. Early life and education A native of Greeleyville, South Carolina, Rogers grew up singing and playing the drums in the Apostolic church pastored by his grandmother. He graduated from C.E. Murray High School in 2012. Alexis Spight (born July 3, 1993) is an American urban contemporary gospel musician, and runner-up on season five of the BET singing competition, ''Sunday Best''. She started her music career, in 2012, with the single, "Imagine Me", and the song placed on the Hot Gospel Songs chart. Her first album, ''L.O.L. (Living Out Loud)'', was released in 2013 by Music World Gospel. This album was her ''Billboard'' magazine breakthrough release upon The ''Billboard'' 200, Gospel Albums, and Independent Albums charts.
