''Sunday (The Gospel According to Iso)'' is the sixth studio album by Australia vocal duo Vika and Linda Bull and was released on 11 September 2020. At the AIR Awards of 2021, the album won Best Independent Blues and Roots Album or EP. Background and release When the first COVID-19 pandemic lockdown began in Melbourne in March 2020, Vika and Linda Bull decided to sing one gospel song each Sunday morning for their followers on social media. The weekly performance became known as the "Sunday Sing Song". Vika said "It's kept our spirits up and we've had great feedback from people". Following the feedback, the sisters decided to record an album of gospel songs. Music director Cameron Bruce played piano from his home in New South Wales and sent the files to Melbourne where the sisters added the vocals. Vika And Linda
Vika and Linda, also known as Vika and Linda Bull, are an Australian vocal duo consisting of Vika Susan Bull (born 1966) and her younger sister, Linda Rose Bull . They came to prominence after singing backing vocals in Joe Camilleri's band The Black Sorrows from 1988. Benjamin Hanby
Benjamin Russell Hanby (July 22, 1833 – March 16, 1867), also given as Benjamin Russel Hanby, was an American composer, educator, pastor, and abolitionist who wrote approximately 80 songs. The most famous are "Darling Nelly Gray" and the Christmas songs "Up on the House Top" and "Who Is He In Yonder Stall?". Hanby was born in Rushville, Ohio. "Amazing Grace" is a Christian hymn published in 1779 with words written in 1772 by English Anglican clergyman and poet John Newton (1725–1807). Ryland Peter "Ry" Cooder (born March 15, 1947) is an American musician, songwriter, film score composer, record producer, and writer. Harry Hookey
Harry Hookey is a singer-songwriter from Victoria, Australia. His debut album ''Misdiagnosed'' was nominated for a 2014 ARIA Award for Best Blues & Roots Album. He is currently part of Desert Alien, a band with his brothers Jack Hookey and Jesse Kidd. Hookey was educated at Cowwarr Primary School and was School Captain in 2000. Hookey holds degrees in Arts and Law from The University of Melbourne. His father taught him to play guitar at the age of 16, with Hookey starting his music career playing in country pubs in a family band with his father and two brothers. Kasey Chambers (born 4 June 1976) is an Australian country singer-songwriter and musician born in Mount Gambier.
