Summerfield, West Midlands
Summerfield is a district in Birmingham, in the West Midlands county of England. The area takes its name from Summerfield House, owned by members of the Chance Brothers, Chance family, local industrialists, and which stood on the site of the current bandstand in Summerfield Park. Major roads in the area include Dudley Road, City Road (part of the city's ring road, the A4040 road, A4040), Rotton Park Road, and Icknield Port Road. Gillott Road is named after industrialist and pen maker Joseph Gillott, who built houses in the area. The former Summerfield School, a Birmingham board school, board school built in 1878, is now a community centre and is a grade II* listed building. Summerfield Suites was an extended stay hotel chain. It was bought by Hyatt, Hyatt Hotels Corporation and folded within that company in 2012. All Summerfield Suites Hotels are now known as HYATT house hotels. In June 2005, the Blackstone Group acquired Wyndham International for $3.2 billion. Summerfield Suites, Wyndham's extended-stay offering, was included in the deal. Summerfield United Methodist Church
Summerfield United Methodist Church is located in the historic Juneautown (East Town) neighborhood of downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Part of the United Methodist Church (UMC), Summerfield has established several community missions and promotes social justice. History Summerfield's congregation formed in 1852. By 1857 the congregation had moved to Biddle Street (now Kilbourn Avenue) and Van Buren Street and was named Summerfield in honor of John Summerfield, an Irish Methodist preacher.Summerfield: 160 Years'. Summer Fields is a fee-paying boys' independent day and boarding Preparatory school (UK), preparatory school in Summertown, Oxford. It was originally called Summerfield and used to have a subsidiary school, Summerfields, St Leonards-on-Sea (known as "Summers mi"). History Summerfield became a boys' preparatory school in 1864, with seven pupils. Its owner, Archibald MacLaren, had been educated at Dollar Academy and was a fencing teacher who ran a gymnasium in Oxford. He believed strongly in the importance of physical fitness. His wife, Gertrude, was a classical scholar and teacher, a daughter of David Alphonso Talboys. The school motto is ''Mens sana in corpore sano'', "A healthy mind in a healthy body".
