''Summer Light'' (French: ''Lumière d'été'') is a 1943 French drama film directed by Jean Grémillon and starring Madeleine Renaud, Pierre Brasseur and Madeleine Robinson.Crisp p.65 It was shot at the Victorine Studios in Nice and on location at Soursac on the Dordogne. The film's sets were designed by the art director André Barsacq. Jane Marken (born Jeanne Berthe Adolphine Crabbe, sometimes credited as Jeanne Marken, 13 January 1895 in Paris 10th arrondissement – 1 December 1976 in Paris 4th arrondissement) was a French actress. Born Georges Louis Lucot in Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, France, the strikingly handsome Marchal was discovered in the early-1940s by director Jean Grémillon. By the early 1950s, he had become one of the top male stars of French cinema, second only, perhaps, to actor Jean Marais.
