SummerSlam (2019)
The 2019 SummerSlam was the 32nd annual SummerSlam professional wrestling pay-per-view and livestreaming List of WWE pay-per-view and WWE Network events, event produced by WWE. It was held for wrestlers from the promotion's Raw (WWE brand), Raw, SmackDown (WWE brand), SmackDown, and 205 Live (WWE brand), 205 Live WWE brand extension, brand divisions. The event took place on August 11, 2019, at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was the second SummerSlam to be held at this particular venue, after the SummerSlam (2004), 2004 event. Twelve matches were contested at the event, including three on the Kickoff pre-show. In the main event, Seth Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar to win Raw's WWE Universal Championship, Universal Championship for a second time. In the penultimate match, Bray Wyatt debuted his new "Fiend" persona and defeated Finn Bálor. Colby Daniel Lopez (born May 28, 1986) is an American professional wrestler. He is currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the Raw brand under the ring name Seth Rollins (often referred to as Seth "Freakin" Rollins). SummerSlam (2020)
The 2020 SummerSlam was the 33rd annual SummerSlam professional wrestling pay-per-view and livestreaming event produced by WWE. It was held for wrestlers from the promotion's Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. The event took place on August 23, 2020, from the WWE ThunderDome, hosted at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. It was WWE's first PPV to be broadcast from the ThunderDome bio-secure bubble. It was also the first SummerSlam since 2011 to not feature Brock Lesnar, who competed in the main event match for the past six years and in 2012. Additionally, it was the first SummerSlam since 2009 to feature MVP. The brand extension, also referred to as the brand split, is the separation of the American professional wrestling promotion WWE's roster of wrestlers (and, at various times, creative staff) into distinct divisions, or "brands". The promotion's wrestlers are assigned to a brand via the annual WWE Draft and exclusively perform on that brand's weekly television show, with some exceptions.
