Masaki Sumitani
(born on December 18, 1975) is a Japanese comedian, retired professional wrestler, and ''tarento'' ("talent") also known under his performing name of , which he adopted from Razor Ramon. His act was featured on the '' Bakusho Mondai no Bakuten!'' (Daibakuten) Saturday variety show on TBS Television in Japan, in 2005. Early life Masaki Sumitani was born December 18, 1975 in Harima, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. After graduating from Hyogo Prefectural Kakogawa Higashi High School, he entered Doshisha University and majored in Commerce. Professional wrestling career While at college he picked up wrestling as a hobby and soon joined the Doshisha Professional Wrestling Alliance (DWA). Under his performing name "GiveUp Sumitani", he won the heavy class Kyoto pro-wrestling championship co-hosted by DWA and the Ritsumeikan Wrestling Alliance (RWA) of nearby Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto. Ginjiro Sumitani
is a Japanese professional baseball player for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). He previously played in NPB for the Saitama Seibu Lions and Yomiuri Giants. Career Seibu Lions/Saitama Seibu Lions In the 2005 Nippon Professional Baseball draft, the Seibu Lions selected Sumitani with the first selection. On November 15, 2005, he signed with the Lions. On March 25, 2006, Sumitani made his NPB debut, and on March 29, he hit a grand slam off of D.J. Carrasco of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, and became the fifth NPB player drafted out of high school to hit a grand slam in his first season. He also became the first rookie out of high school to homer twice in a game since Hideki Matsui did so 13 years previous. He finished his rookie season with a .181/.193/.290 slash line. Masamine Sumitani
was a Japanese swordsmith. Sumitani's family ran a soy-sauce manufacturing business, but rather than entering the family trade, Masamine opted to study at Ritsumeikan University, with a view to becoming a swordsmith, graduating in 1941 with a degree in mechanical engineering. After his graduation, Sumitani remained at Kyoto, studying (alongside Masayuki Nagare) under Sakurai Masayuki. When the University's sword studio was destroyed in a fire in 1942, Sumitani moved to Onomichi to continue his education at the Foundation of National Japanese Sword Studies and the Kokoku Japanese Sword Temper Workshop there. Sumitani settled in Mattō, Ishikawa. He worked in the Bizen tradition, and was noted for his ''choji midare'' or "clove patterns" along the '' hamon'' of his blades.
