Sumit Godara (born 11 December 1973) is an Indian politician who is a cabinet minister in Food & Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs Department in government of Rajasthan. He was elected in the 15th & 16th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Lunkaransar constituency. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Political career In the 2018 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election, he was elected as a member of the 15th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from the Lunkaransar constituency. The Indian National Congress became the single largest party with 100 seats, short of majority by 1 seat. The Bharatiya Janata Party won 73 seats, much lower compared to the previous election in which it won an absolute majority of 163 seats. History On 19th September 2022 it was reported that Ashok Gehlot was interested in running for the post of Congress president in the 2022 Indian National Congress presidential election.
