Sultan Choudhury
Sultan Ahmed Choudhury OBE ( bn, সুলতান আহমেদ চৌধুরী) is an English banker, chartered accountant and was the chief executive officer of Al Rayan Bank (formerly Islamic Bank of Britain). Early life In 1994, Choudhury graduated with a BA (Hons) in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Nottingham. His interest in Islamic finance began at this time. In 2001, he graduated with distinction in MBA from Aston Business School. After qualifying as a chartered accountant, his desire to enter the field of Islamic finance became clear when he went on Hajj (the largest Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia) in 2002. Career From July 1994, Choudhury worked in Assurance and Advisory Practice at Deloitte & Touche. Sultan Ahmed (deputy Speaker)
Sultan Ahmed Chowdhury (16 August 1932 – 19 June 1992) was a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician. He served as deputy Speaker of Bangladesh Parliament. Early life and education Barrister Sultan completed his school certificate exam in Ctg. Govt Muslim High School in the year 1946 after that he passed H.S.C Exam with first division under Dhaka University in the year 1948. Then he completed B.A (hons.) in political science from same university and also perform his master's degree with a distinction in political science. In 1954, he was invited as honorary lecturer in same university's Political Science Dept. He passed the barrister-at-law exam with the highest marks in constitution law and Mohammedan law from Lincoln's Inn. He also studied economics in Berlin in 1960. Islam in England is the second largest religion after Christianity. Most Muslims are immigrants from South Asia (in particular Bangladesh, Pakistan and India) or descendants of immigrants from that region. The Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) is the regulator of the newspaper and magazine industry in the UK. It was established on 8 September 2014 after the windup of the Press Complaints Commission (PCC), which had been the main industry regulator of the press in the United Kingdom since 1990.
