Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Saud Al Kabeer
Sultan bin Mohammed Al Kabeer (born 1954) is a Saudi prince and businessman. He is one of the founders of Almarai which is the largest vertically integrated dairy foods company in the world. Prince Sultan is a great-nephew of King Abdulaziz, being the grandson of the King's sister Noura bint Abdul Rahman. Early life and education Prince Sultan belongs to the Al Kabeer branch of the Saudi royal family. This branch are the descendants of Saud bin Faisal bin Turki, Emir of Nejd, who was an uncle of King Abdulaziz, the founder of the present Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As such, the Al Kabeer family is a cadet branch of the royal family and are not eligible to succeed to the throne. Saud bin Faisal was the great-great-grandfather of Prince Sultan. The Hollywood Gold Cup Stakes is a Grade I American thoroughbred horse race for horses age three and older over a distance of miles on the dirt held at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California in May. The race currently offers a purse of $400,000. History Early beginnings The race inaugurated in 1938 at Hollywood Park Racetrack in Inglewood, California as the Hollywood Gold Cup. Hollywood Park Racetrack opened its doors on June 10, 1938, and Seabiscuit, under jockey George Woolf, won the $50,000 added race's inaugural running on July 16. The race was not run in 1942 or 1943, due to Hollywood Park being closed and used as an airplane parts storage depot during World War II. Laura M. de Seroux (born February 9, 1952 in Los Angeles, California) is a retired trainer of Thoroughbred racehorses. In 2002 she became the second female to win a Breeders' Cup race and the only female to train an American Horse of the Year. Early career Born Laura M. Lubisich, in 1986 she married Emmanuel de Seroux, a bloodstock agent she met while on business in France. She learned race conditioning of Thoroughbreds from Hall of Fame trainer Charlie Whittingham for whom she exercised horses for sixteen years. She then began managing parts of the racing operations for owners Nelson Bunker Hunt and Bruce McNall in both North America and Europe. On Laura de Seroux's advice, in September 1987 McNall purchased a half interest in Trempolino.
