Suleiman Galadima CFR (born October 1946) is a Nigerian jurist and Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Early life Justice Galadima was born in October 1946 in Nasarawa State, Northern Nigeria. He attended Government College Keffi where he obtained the West Africa School Certificate in 1965 before he proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Law in 1977 and was Call to the bar after he graduated from the Nigerian Law School in 1978. He later received a master's degree in law from the University of Jos in 1985. Law career He joined the Anambra State Judiciary as Magistrate in July 1988 and in 1990, he was appointed as Attorney General and the Commission for Justice, Plateau state. Call To The Bar
The call to the bar is a legal term of art in most common law jurisdictions where persons must be qualified to be allowed to argue in court on behalf of another party and are then said to have been "called to the bar" or to have received "call to the bar". "The bar" is now used as a collective noun for barristers, but literally referred to the wooden barrier in old courtrooms, which separated the often crowded public area at the rear from the space near the judges reserved for those having business with the court. Barristers would sit or stand immediately behind it, facing the judge, and could use it as a table for their briefs. The Nigerian Law School is an educational institution set up by the Government of Nigeria in 1962 to provide a Nigerian legal education to foreign-trained lawyers, and to provide practical training for aspiring Legal Practitioners in Nigeria. Until the school was established, legal practitioners in Nigeria had received the requisite training in England and had been called to the English Bar.
