''Sukia'''' succhiare'' is Italian for "to suck". was a vampire-themed Italian comics series by Renzo Barbieri and Fulvio Bosttoli published by Edifumetto from 1978 to 1986, for a total of 153 albums and 6 extra albums. In the series Sukia faces people or creatures who are trying to do some form of harm to the world or other. Sukia is displayed as an antihero since she at times helps people fight crimes against humanity or committing crimes for personal gain. Each issue usually was self-contained. The physical characteristics of ''Sukia'' are said to have been inspired by the looks of the actress Ornella Muti. Emanuele Taglietti painted numerous covers for the series. The series was published in Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Brazil, Belgium and in Latin America where the series was published in Colombia and distributed all over Latin America. Sukia were an American electronic band, based in Camarillo, California, United States, that featured former child actor Ross Harris (actor), Ross Harris, who in the 1970s acted in shows such as ''CHiPS'' and the ''Little House on the Prairie (TV series), Little House on the Prairie''. Renzo Barbieri
Renzo Barbieri (10 March 1940 – 23 September 2007) was an author and editor of Italian comics as well as the founder of the publishing house Edifumetto. In 1980 he wrote ''Il Manuale del Playboy'' (Manual for Playboys), a textbook about where European playboys live, what cars they drive, and other lifestyle tips. Biography The Beginning Barbieri was born in Milan, Italy. In the early 1960s he started collaborating with comics publishers like Editoriale Dardo and Edizioni Alpe. He was also a journalist for the tabloid ''La Notte''. In the mid-1960s, after reading a rather violent White Cartoon French book, he decided to open a publishing house in Milan and developed the idea of "pocket comics", also known as a digest.
