Suki Brownsdon
Susannah Claire "Suki" Brownsdon (born 16 October 1965) is an English former competitive swimmer who won a silver medal in the women's 100-metre breaststroke at the 1981 European Championships, and represented Great Britain at four consecutive Olympic Games, with her best results being sixth place in the 100-metre breaststroke final in 1980 and seventh place in the 200-metre breaststroke final in 1984. She also represented England at three Commonwealth Games, winning a total of five medals. Early life Brownsdon attended Millfield School from 1982 to 1984. Career Brownsdon's first Olympic experience was as a 14-year-old at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, where she finished sixth in the 100-metre breastroke final. Caroline Cooper is a female former swimmer who competed for Great Britain and England. Swimming career Cooper represented England at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland winning three medals. 1986 Commonwealth Games
The 1986 Commonwealth Games ( gd, Geamannan a 'Cho-fhlaitheis 1986) were held in Edinburgh, Scotland, between 24 July and 2 August 1986. They were the second Games to be held in Edinburgh. Thirty two of the eligible fifty nine countries (largely African, Asian and Caribbean states) boycotted the event because of the Thatcher government's policy of keeping Britain's sporting links with apartheid South Africa. Organisation Unlike the 1970 Games in Edinburgh, which were popular and successful, the 1986 Games are ill-famed for the wide political boycott connected with them and the resulting financial mismanagement. United States Short Course Swimming Championships
The United States Short Course National Championships or USA Swimming Winter Nationals is a national championship meet organized by USA Swimming. The competition is swum short course yards (SCY), in a pool 25-yards long. The meet's most recent incarnation began in 2007 and was held annually in November or December until 2018 when it returned to being held in March. Prior to 1991, the annual spring U.S. national championships were swum as a 25-yard meet; however, from 1991-2007, the meet was held as a long course (50m) meet. In the mid-2000s, USA Swimming decided to revive a Nationals meet in the short-course-yards format, but decided that the meet should be in December, rather than the late-March/early April time frame that the Spring Nationals had turned into. The 1984 Summer Olympics (officially the Games of the XXIII Olympiad and also known as Los Angeles 1984) were an international multi-sport event held from July 28 to August 12, 1984, in Los Angeles, California, United States. June Alexandra Croft (born 17 June 1963) is an English former freestyle swimmer. Swimming career Croft represented Great Britain at three consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1980. Ann Osgerby
Ann Osgerby (born 20 January 1963), later known by her married name Ann Osgerby Inge, is an English former butterfly swimmer. Swimming career Osgerby represented Great Britain at two consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1980. She also represented Great Britain at the World Championships in 1978 and 1982, Commonwealth Games 1978 and 1982, European Championships 1981 and 1983, World Cup 1979. Osgerby became the British women's team captain in 1982 and held that position for two years until retiring after the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games suffering from an ongoing injury of tendonitis in both shoulders. Catherine White (born 26 June 1965) is a former British swimmer who represented Great Britain at the 1984 Olympic Games and won a silver medal for England at the 1982 Commonwealth Games.
